Morganton is a tiny town located near Blue Ridge Lake and close to many amenities. You can go fishing, tubing, shopping, dining, apple picking, train riding, brewery hoping, wine tasting and gambling all in a short drive. Downtown Blue Ridge was established as a railroad town and has a train depot at its heart along with several shops and restaurants including local breweries. If you head northwest (hwy 5) from Downtown Blue Ridge, you'll run into a family owned and operated apple orchard, Mercier Orchards. They have every apple thing you can think of and offer fun tractor rides to pick your own peck. Aska Road also offers a beautiful scenic drive around the area with hidden waterfalls and hiking and biking trails. Our family has enjoyed the north Georgia mountains for almost 30 years. If you have any questions or need any advice, we'd be more than happy to give recommendations. Blue Ridge is only 90 miles north of Atlanta on I-575. The lake level is managed by the TVA throughout the year and varies depending on local rainfall. It's usually at high water in June and July, with May and August typically having levels with easy water access. In other months, the cove may or may not have water in it, but the lake is reachable with a short walk. Guest access You have access to the entire home including the picnic area next door with a charcoal grill. We have two docks that are accessible during your stay one has a green top it's the one closest to the lake house, we also have a sun deck with two orange Adirondack chairs. We share our dock with our neighbor Gene. The water level near property is at full capacity from mid April through the months of May, June, July and part of August however the lake levels are managed by TVA throughout the year. When we do not have water in the cove you can still have a lake view and can access the lake from the shoreline. We recommend checking water levels with the TVA website for the other months on the year if you're planning to stay for water activities. We can also advise on the current level.
