Cute Little Country Guest House

An old barn/machine shed transformed into a great little rustic retreat (which we affectionately call "Westhaven")! A great secluded place to get away from the day-to-day grind. Hiking trails on the premises. About 5 miles from civilization (town). Come unwind! FRIENDLY DOGS WELCOME (we speak fluent WOOF! :-) ) (Please NO cats!) This is not just a place to stay, but an experience to remember. The space Come spend a night or two in a wonderfully rustic remodeled machine shed/barn, affectionately called "Westhaven" (because it's west of our house!). When you find the lane (just over 1/2 mile long), just take a moment to pause at the end and think about relaxing from that moment on. Take in the beauty as you meander down the long driveway which crosses over a creek & eventually brings you to your lovely accommodations. Upon arrival you'll admire the unique barn-type structure you'll be hanging out in, up to your left in the barn yard. The full, open concept studio-type living quarters is VERY inviting! It has an eclectic rustic style that instantly makes you feel warm & fuzzy. If you need anything...just ASK! We have a well stocked kitchen including a toaster oven, hot & cold water dispenser, 2 burner hotplate, small refrigerator w/ a tiny freezer, BBQ grill & microwave. Also included are pots and pans, plates, wine glasses, mugs, cooking utensils, forks/knives/spoons, baggies, aluminum foil, etc, etc, etc! Oh, and help yourself to spices, hot cocoa, popcorn, granola bars, instant oatmeal, S&P & whatever else is available to eat. The bathroom is spacious & has a cozy feeling with it's rustic wood decor. This room also has all the "goodies" you need (toothpaste, shampoo, etc) in case you forget something from home. There are very nice porches on both sides of the building. One side has a few chairs and an amazing overlook of beautiful farm land, the other side has a BBQ grill & a table and chairs for those long, warm, beautiful spring, summer or fall days and nights. If you're pondering this place DO NOT HESITATE!! We book up quickly, it seems. We also offer a no-fee cancellation policy, if your plans change. As one guest said, this place is "a slice of country heaven". Guest access We have free Wifi. You may use our laundry if needed. You are welcome to explore the entire property - we have 3-4 miles of trails. We can take in more than 5 people. Other things to note The light switch in the bathroom is hiding in the middle of the upper wooden frame of the mirror over sink. The place is quite toasty in the winter. And air conditioned in the summer! If you use the coffee maker, please be sure to unplug it when no longer in use, thanks! We ARE in the middle of cornfields, so you will experience occasional box elder bugs and Asian beetles. They are both totally harmless and part of "country living".
