Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apartment, fully separate from upstairs house. Comfortable for the urban dweller that would rather stay in a quaint neighborhood than downtown hotel, it's a great home-base for the traveller curious to explore Portland-- especially for the food lover! Located in quintessential Hawthorne/Mt. Tabor neighborhood. Just blocks from Mt. Tabor Park, restaurants, bars and bus lines. 15 minutes from airport. Naturally cool during summers heat and warm in the winter. The space The apartment is a completely private basement unit with a separate side door entrance. The upstairs and downstairs units are completely separate and there is no way to access the upstairs from the downstairs, nor vice versa. Modern style bedroom has egress window and garden view, with a separate heater and fan that guests control. There is no AC, but lots of windows and two fans. The basement stays very cool on summer days. This 625 sq ft basement floor of a 1920s bungalow contains: (1) queen-sized bed in closing door bedroom; (1) pullout couch, converts to full bed; dining table with 4 chairs, nightstands w/ lamps, desk with chair and lamp, private bathroom, washer and dryer, high speed Wi-Fi, service area is complete with coffee, french press, tea, an electric tea kettle, a mini fridge, toaster, hot-plate, microwave and basic pots/pans; large smart TV with full access to YOUR Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon accounts. Just connect the two and off you go! PLEASE NOTE: This unit has no cable TV, no oven, no big fridge, no air-conditioning. City of Portland PERMIT: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-HO Guest access Guest Entrance: You have your own private entrance through driveway on side of house. Parking: It's always easy to find a spot with free, on-street parking. Other things to note While you have a completely separate and independent unit with a separate entrance, we do live in the unit above and you will hear us living our lives. We are a married couple with two dogs, a kitty and a teenager: we get along well and sincerely love hosting guests. Please note there is a short flight of stairs and the apartment is not handicapped accessible. It is a 100-year-old home with no air-conditioning.
