Renaissance Suite - Balsac Castle

Stay in an elegant 16th Century Renaissance chateau. Rooms have been carefully renovated to highlight the rich history of the building while providing modern conveniences. Each suite has a comfortable queen size bed and a fold out bed for one additional person. The bathrooms have double sinks, a large walk-in shower with rain and hand-held shower heads. You'll have access to the chateau's main living room and library, its large park, pool and hot tub! The space The Chateau de Balsac, former home of lords and ladies beginning in the 12th Century, is designated a historic landmark by the French State. Elements of its early architecture remain, while the 'newest' parts of the building date from the 16th-19th centuries. Spiral stone staircases, mullion windows and 'meurtriers' from which defenders peered or shot crossbows can all be found on the property. The park includes shade trees and enclosures where friendly animals find shelter. The chateau is open to host guests, family reunions, educational workshops and special events. Guest access Guests have access to a large salon and living room, dining room, the park and its amenities, and a selection of services including tours and catering. During your stay Your hosts are available during the day to answer any questions you might have or help you to make plans for travel and tours. If you need assistance with translation or travel planning, please let us know. Other things to note Suites are situated on the 2nd floor of the main house. Access is via a large stone staircase, not recommended for small children or people with mobility issues.
