Cathare Land, Manor of Castillou

Close to the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, the Castillou Domain is surrounded by woods, fields of olive trees and plants. It lies at the end of a road in a remote valley of 120 hectares. In this valley stands a former Bishops' residence from the 13th Century, a chapel with an adjoining park in the shade of the plane trees, footpaths and a large pool open during summer. The fields of plants and olive trees encircle the Domain, production of organic essential oils and olive oils on the spot. The space The residence can be divided into two holiday cottages with 6 to 7 bedrooms, 2 dining rooms, 1 play room or function room, 2 kitchens, 5 bathrooms, 1 laundry room and a freezer.  The accommodation features exposed beams and natural stone, along with wooden floorboards in a design that is both authentic and refined. Outside you will find a terrace, BBQ, secure swimming pool (15m x 6m) area with deck chairs, a playground, table tennis, a park and a path suitable for hiking or cross-country cycling. Trains and car rentals, restaurants and shops can all be found nearby (10 minutes), including an organic bakery/cafe and chocolatier. Nearby places of interest include  the castles of Cathares, the Bugarach peak, Rennes-le-Château, local craft and produce markets and the beautiful, celebrated medieval town of Carcassonne. Guest access Our guests have full access to our Domain and are able to enjoy its natural surroundings. Massage treatments and essential oils are available. We love to spend time together with our guests, to present our Domain and offer advice and information about places of local interest,  We love to cook and offer our guests the finest French gastronomy and wines.
