Description

The Alpenchalet Kogel is located on the outskirts of Bad Tölz high above the old town with a fantastic view of the city and the Karwendel Mountains. It is luxuriously equipped with an old wooden roof chair, designer kitchen made of black steel, garden sauna, two secluded terraces, fireplace and a mixture of high-quality designer furniture and antiques. For children there is a cable car, a trampoline, slide, sandbox, tree house and soccer field as well as in-house Cameroon sheep in summer. The space The open old wooden roof truss gives the alpine chalet its very special charm. Centrally located in the middle of the room is the cooking island and a rustic oak table. In winter, guests can use the fireplace. From the living room, three glass doors lead directly to the south terrace. The room is decorated with historical black and white pictures of Bad Tölz. A large flat screen with Netflix access is available - without destroying the atmosphere of the room. The Brauneck ski resort is 15 minutes away and is artificially snowed. Ski tours start right in front of the house, or you can drive 30 minutes to Karwendel. The sledding hill for children is right in front of the chalet - until the 1960s, the Kogel was the ski resort of Bad Tölz. Other things to note The Alpenhotel Kogel was opened in 1891 and was a hotel known beyond the city limits until its closure in 2008. Thomas Mann stayed there and described the encounter with hostess Stasi in his book "Herr und Hund". At that time, Thomas Mann acquired his dog "Bauschan" at the Alpenhotel Kogel. The hotel was closed and converted into a private house. The hospitable spirit of the Alpenhotel Kogel was revived in 2019 when the former stable was converted into the Alpenchalet Kogel. Since 2020, vacationers and families can now rediscover this magical place. The last two years the chalet was used privately and will reopen in summer 2024.
