Guest suite in St. Albans

Quiet and spacious Queen suite and large private bathroom! Just a 20 minute drive from West Virginia's capitol city--Charleston! Minutes from dining and shopping options in small town Saint Albans. Located in a quiet neighborhood that is great for walking, jogging or biking. The space Suite is attached to the main house but sectioned off for your privacy (door to main house is locked from both sides during your stay). Large bathroom complete with standing shower and separate tub. Mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot in room for you convenience. TV (no cable), WIFI, DVDs, board/card games, dining suggestions, books and magazine all provided in room. Guest has complete control of heating/AC in room. Private entrance with lovely deck and view of the Coal River. Park in our driveway and enter around back through wooden gate and continue along gravel path to suite's entrance. Guest access Guests have access to the entire Queen suite which includes large bathroom, closet, and private deck. Other things to note Please be aware that we do have children and pets. They will not be in your space, but you will definitely see "signs of life". Our Goldendoodle Finn might greet you with a bark, and you'll see our children (or their toys) playing in the yard frequently. Check out time is no later than 10:00am. If you'd like a later check out you must let us know 48 hours prior to your arrival. A $10 fee will be assessed for later check out. Late check out will be granted based on availability. Check in time is 4:00pm or later. If you'd like earlier check-in you must let us know 48 hours prior to your arrival. A $10 fee will be assessed for early check-in. Early check in will only be granted based on availability. As listed in the amenities section, we have a TV in the space but no cable. Some guests choose to bring their own streaming device (FireStick, AppleTV, etc) or just use the DVD player we have available. Coffee is provided in room for your convenience as well as a few snacks and cold breakfast items (breakfast bars or oatmeal) There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room for your use. We do have children and dogs in our home and while we attempt to keep the noise levels to a minimum, please know that it is likely that you will hear us throughout your stay. This is a non-smoking space. Smoking is not permitted inside the suite. The jets in the bathtub are currently not working. We are working to get those fixed as soon as possible. The patio area outside in the back yard (concrete pad with fire pit table and furniture for seating) was home to our lighted pergola (our favorite spot to sit in the evenings) until April 2024 when a tornado came through the yard and took everything down over the riverbank. We were able to recover everything except the pergola (much to our dismay). It is still a lovely place to sit and enjoy an evening outdoors, but guests have inquired as to why our pergola is not accessible.
