Description
The apartment is located at one end of the city in a new area of middle class and right next to the University Rovira and Virgili. Nearby you can find a tourist information point, archaeological museum of Tortosa and Jardines del Principe (sculptures). From the building to the center of the city there are only 12 minutes walking and a few meters a bus stop to facilitate the displacement. The space Accommodation is usually for students of the University; but it is really nice for its decoration, its sight and its light. Guest access Guests have access to the entire apartment. Other things to note Tortosa was possibly the city of Hibera, capital of the Iberian territory of the Ilercavonia. It is very likely that the main settlement was on the hill that currently occupies the Castillo de la Zuda. It was Dertosa under the Roman Empire, occupied in 714 by the Muslims. During the Umayyad period played a very prominent role, both for being the main Muslim settlement of the lower Ebro and for having an important port and be well connected both with the towns of the Ebro and those of the Levante, thanks to the Via Augusta.5 In 1035 Turtusha became Taifa's kingdom (in 2005 the ancient Arab baths in the San Jaime neighborhood were rediscovered). Another stage of splendor was during the Christian Middle Ages (after the conquest by Count Ramón Berenguer IV in the year 1148) 6 and later with the Renaissance, which contrasts with the loss of weight in Catalonia after 10 years of civil war (1462-1472). In fact, Tortosa has been celebrating a few days of historical recreations, the Festa del Renaixement (Renaissance Festival). In Tortosa took place in 1413-1414 of the Dispute of Tortosa, the most important debate between Christians and Jews in the Spanish Middle Ages. During the War of Succession the troops of Felipe V took the city in July 1708. The French occupied it from January 1811 to May 1814. During the 19th century Tortosa was configured as an important Carlist nucleus, although under the control of the troops liberals The resurgence initiated during the first decades of the 20th century was interrupted by the Spanish Civil War, when the city was practically destroyed by the Francoist bombings (1937-1939). The reconstruction was long and difficult. Registration Details HUTTE-039703
