Nosoko is a quite village in the northern part of Ishigaki Island. We have Mountains and Wilderness on one site and then there is the beach. A three minutes walk away. Pocket beaches. No tourists, you are almost alone on those kind of private beaches. Great to snorkel, you will find all kind of exotic fishes and corals and a million other things under water. Or you can treck through the woods and hike mount Mape, to enjoy an exceptional view to the other islands of the Yeayama island group. The space Wake up to the sound of wild birds in the tropics and take a break! Watch the myriad of starry things flowing through the Milky Way. (Ishigaki Island is known for the clear skies) Stargazing is a must! How about such a quiet and relaxing vacation? There are two hammocks in our garden awaiting you. You can take a nap or read a book in them and feel the soft breeze from the ocean under a shadow spending canopy of tropical leaves. The Guesthouse is far away from the main road ...no traffic noise, only sometimes an old tractor passed by. The terrace gives you the possibility to spend the most time of your stay in fresh air or to make a BBQ with the local beef specialty called Ishigaki Gyu and is similar to Kobe Beef. The kitchen/bathroom unit is separated from the actual living space In addition, possible activities during your stay: Japanese-, German-, or English conversation classes, Japanese-, Okinawan- and German food cooking classes, folk craft making experience, etc etc etc... About us: We are a married couple of Shizuka (Japanese) and André (German). We live in Ishigaki for more than 13 years now. We are interested in the Okinawa culture, that is one reason why we are here, one of the others is: the magic of the beautiful Yaeyama Islands. Besides, I am a designer, and Shizuka works in an ocean research center and knows lots of fishy things, lol. Please contact us and ask us for everything! Other things to note * The Kitchen/Bathroom unit is separated from the actual Living Space * You can rent a kayak (double, sit on top ocean kayak) from us. (¥3000 for a day.) * Or you can rent a gas BBQ plus a gas cartridge, and make you own BBQ on your terrace. (¥1500 a day) *Be aware, because it is a place surrounded by rich nature, spiders, geckos, mosquitos, and ants may enter the room. You will have mosquito screens, protecting your room from those creatures. If you don't like to live near the jungle, you should better rent a hotel room in Ishigaki city.
