Alte Schule Kirmutscheid - Secluded location on the edge of the forest

The "Alte Schule Kirmutscheid" is a 190 year old building in a secluded location.The school is located in the middle of the nature reserve in the forest.The building is listed both internally and externally Each small foot flows behind and in front of the school. It is the right place for nature lovers, but also for Nürburgring visitors, which is only a few minutes away by car. You live alone in the old school. The space Due to the strict monument protection, you can feel the atmosphere in which previous generations have lived. If you expect contemporary comfort, this is the wrong address. But if you love the flair of authentic old walls, you will love it here. The teacher apartment has a large outdoor terrace with converted, shaded seating area with grill. It can't be reached from the house, but you have to walk through the front door and behind the house. From the terrace, a natural stone staircase leads directly down to the Trierbach stream. The view from the terrace is unobstructed and reaches over the Trierbach stream into the meadows and forest landscape. The terrace is fenced but not suitable to leave dogs there unattended. The furnishing of the house was carried out according to monumental protection requirements. Bathroom is a 70 year old unique and deserves the name "(bath)room". In the large bedroom there is an old, hand-carved wedding bed, the two bedrooms behind them were combined into a chamber divided by the half-timbered frame. Heated is heated by an 8kw pellet stove with thermostat which automatically ignites and keeps the temperature. Modern comfort is not to be found here, as the house is supposed to be authentic and a mix of styles of old and new is not desired. Important: vin November to April, the old school is only rented for 2 people, as the bedrooms are not heatable with the other two beds. Dogs cost €4/night, electricity €0.36/kw/h, wooden pellets 8.5€/bag, payable on site. Guest access The apartment is on the ground floor and is the sole apartment in the school house. Behind the house there is an extensive terrace with covered seating area. Unfortunately, I had to remove the grill because guests repeatedly lit a fire kit of wood in it, which is strictly prohibited in that place. Since the fire could spread over the wooden beams there at any time. Other things to note Dogs are welcome guests and cost €4/dog/night (payable locally). Electricity will be charged at €0.36/KW at the end of the stay. Heating material for the pellet stove will be charged €8.50 per 15kg bag at the end of the stay. Every 14 days there is a service in the neighboring 500-year-old church. In the outbuilding of the schoolhouse (Zwergenschule) there is also an apartment, which is however spatially as well as from the outside completely separated from the old school. In summer, on holidays and weekends, you can hear the departure and arrival traffic via the B258 to the nearby Nürburgring.
