As you head gently up the hillside and turn into the sweeping driveway you arrive at three charming houses and one can’t help but be delighted by the landscape that surrounds you. These lovely houses can be found nestled in the hill overlooking the picturesque and sheltered Polis Bay, offering extensive sea views towards the stunning island of Kefalonia. The villa is air-conditioned and finished to a high standard, tastefully furnished and well equipped throughout. The space A paved footpath takes you directly from the house to the beach in a matter of minutes. The beach is separated in two parts by a small jetty and the local fisherman's’ harbour. There is a “cantina/taverna” serving local specialities and drinks throughout the day. Sunbeds and umbrella's are available to rent on the beach. A little further uphill, within walking distance of the houses is the traditional village of Stavros with popular tavernas, cashpoint, and pharmacy as well as shops, bars and cafes. One of three terracotta-coloured villas overlooking Polis Bay, Elia Beach Villa enjoys magical views across to Kefalonia and the private west-facing terrace is a wonderful spot to sit and watch the local fishing boats head out in the early evening. The sunsets here are spectacular and there’s a barbecue when you’re inspired to cook the catch of the day while you enjoy the sundowner of your choice. When you’re in need of a refreshing dip, a two-minute stroll will take you down to the beach where sunbeds and shades are available for hire and you’ll find a simple kantina serving delicious food and drinks throughout the day. The accommodation feels spacious and comfortable, with two en-suite bedrooms (a double and a twin) and though Elia Beach Villa is one of a collection of three villas overlooking the bay, it enjoys a good degree of privacy with everything needed for a relaxing break on this idyllic island. The traditional village of Stavros on the hill is a 5-minute drive or 25-minute walk away - perfect for everyday essentials and a small selection of tavernas. Charming Frikes by the water is a further 10-minute drive and offers a wider variety of dining options. Self-drive boat hire is readily available for exploring the island from the sea and back on terra firma our Local Concierge can advise on guided walks and art workshops which can be arranged on request. Other things to note The house overlooks the fishing harbour of Poli from where local fishermen set off every evening to set their nets which they recover early the next morning.
