Dempsey's Guest House Room 5

This private double room is one of five units at Dempsey's Self-Catering Guest House. External private entrance, en suite shower and kitchenette within the room, there is on-site parking right outside the room. In business for 18 years in the quiet garden suburb of Walmer, we are central to most amenities: 1km to the nearest shopping centre, 7kms to the beach, under 3kms to the airport. We aim to provide a peaceful and comfortable stay to all travellers. The space There are 5 steps into the room. The room is spacious, tastefully decorated, neat and clean with a small book and magazine library in the room and board games to draw from in our reception office. Please note that the room faces the back of the property and doesn't have the front garden views. There are no windows in the bedroom area, there are two windows in the bathroom and two windows alongside the front door in the kitchen area. Hairdryer upon request. The abundant bird life and peaceful surroundings in a quiet neighbourhood makes Dempsey's Guest House a peaceful haven for all travellers. We conserve energy by using a heat pump to heat all water on the property with a solar inverter back up system for power supply which serves us during most load-shedding times. We use as many LED and energy-saving light bulbs as possible. All our showers are fitted with water saving shower roses. We harvest rain water for use in our laundry; we plan on having more rain tanks for harvesting of rain water to our guest rooms. We recycle paper, plastic, tins, glass. Our garden is completely natural, we don’t apply fertilisers or pesticides of any kind. Guest access Guests have access to their own rooms, private patio areas outside their rooms and a large part of the spacious garden. Other things to note Our region has been in the grips of a serious drought. Although we've recently received good rains in our catchment areas, the municipality has not relaxed water restrictions yet, guests are asked to abide by the municipal laws and drastically reduce their water usage.
