Description
We have 3 self-catering holiday cottages nestled in our 17th century converted farm building. We have a large 10x5m shared pool. The grounds extend for 7 acres alongside the small L’Escourou stream. We are a professional business, priding ourselves on high standards. Cottage Isabelle is styled to be calm and welcoming. With exposed stone, wooden floors and oak beams the house has a modern rustic feel. The bedrooms are fresh and comfortable and we keep the cottages clean and well-appointed. The space Cottage Isabelle has three bedrooms, all generously sized. Two bedrooms have a double bed, and one is a twin. The cottage has two newly renovated bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath with overhead shower. The kitchens are new, clean and with a complete range of facilities: This cottage has: A fully equipped kitchen with fridge & cooker. Washing machine. Bed linen provided. Bath towels, pool towels & tea towels provided. WiFi access. Log burner for the cooler periods. BBQ for your use. Iron and ironing board. Vacuum cleaner. Cleaning products. Toilet roll. Torch. Local guide of markets, vineyards, restaurants and attractions. Separate parking area. The cottage has its own semi-private outside space covered by a shaded gazebo with views over our large garden. There is a large garden table with benches and a BBQ for each house. Guest access We have a large shared swimming pool (10x5m) with steps from one end. The pool area has a patio and large wooden decked area surrounded by trees, giving both shade and privacy. The area catches the sun beautifully from midday until sunset. There is a shaded gazebo and sun loungers and side tables. We have 7 acres of private garden. The front lawn is planted with trees and shrubs. We tend to leave the rear meadow to grow wild flowers. The lower glade is a gorgeous, private area furthest from the house. A real bonus for picnics or quiet reading alongside the stream. It takes 20 minutes to stroll the loop around our garden. We think it's perfect for an after dinner stroll in the evening sun. Cottages de Garrigue has an adjacent public chemin (equivalent to a UK public footpath) meaning short or long walks can be taken directly from your front door. Other things to note Cottages de Garrigue is set in the lower Dordogne in the South West of France near Bergerac. It is a beautiful rural area with gentle hills and vineyards as far as the eye can see. The region is very popular with tourists although you never feel it is crowded. This popularity brings a vast network of restaurants, public chateaux, attractions and events. Taxe de Séjours Our local commune levies a small tourist tax on all types of holiday accommodation. We fall into a low cost category, but have to collect the charge regardless and pass it to the commune Mairie. The money collected goes towards supporting tourism in the local area. The Taxe de Séjours fee is €1.04cents per adult per night. Airbnb should collect this on yours and our behalf. Our wider area We are brimming with activities within 45mins of Cottages de Garrigue. There is wine tasting galore, chateaux open for public view, kayaking on the Dordogne, Lot and Garonne rivers, horse riding, golf, beautiful walks and picnic areas. There are many other Medieval bastide villages around; Monpazier and Issigeac are very pretty for instance. Each has a weekly market and worth a trip for food or other goodies. Summer events Summer events are popular in our area. There are regular music, film, cultural, jazz, youth, wine tasting and food events. Throughout the summer night markets are popular to buy food, drinks and sit on the communal tables provided. This is the poster for the Eymet night market - every Tuesday from 7pm until the end of August. Many of our regional towns and villages host summer events. Our advice is to keep your eye out for posters while you are here. Going with the flow often results in unexpected fun. Walking This region of France has an extensive network of public footpaths. These are clearly marked and pass through beautiful scenery. Most link together so whether you're after a stroll or a hike there is something for you. We have a footpath adjacent to our house which can take you across the local fields or woods on several circular routes back to the house. Registration Details 1400403
