Sitting atop a hill overlooking the beautiful scenery sits this 1920’s Little Red Caboose. Bright and light within and sitting upon actual railroad tracks, you will feel like you are a world apart. Snuggle into the queen size bed and enjoy an escape on the rails. Brew a fresh cup of coffee and throw open the door to the mini porch and enjoy the view. The space **IF STAYING DURING WINTER*** We will not have water turned on for winter stays, due to freezing pipes. It will be just a bit more RUSTIC, but plenty of FUN for campers!! You will need to bring your own jugs of drinking water or handwashing water. And baby wipes if you want to get cleaned up. There is a porta potty nearby as usual, and space heaters, but plan to pack as though you were going camping with extra warm things for yourself. ***THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING** The Little Red Caboose is cute as can be...with French doors that open out the back step, for a view of nature from your comfy Queen size bed. Adorable train and vintage style decor, just the right amenities, and a one-of-kind experience! Your private restroom is a fancied up Porto potty style outhouse just steps from the caboose with a little sink attached on the outside. We have an open air (completely privacy, with a view of the stars) camp shower set up for your use with an on demand hot water system. Think “glamping” :) Inside the caboose you have a little kitchenette with a coffee maker and toaster oven, sink, a set of dishes, a table and chairs and a fold down couch that can be an extra bed for one additional guests if needed. Please bring your own coffee and tea. For sanitary reasons we will not be providing them at this time. Due to Covid-19 we have made some changes to ensure this is a completely private, socially distanced space to keep you safe and healthy during your stay. Many folks just like to take it easy and dial down the activity for a true retreat, but there are a wide variety of options for those looking for something to do nearby that would be a safe, socially distant activity. From hiking Nocallula Falls, bouldering the world class rocks at Horse Pens 40, or the river walk and fishing piers off the Coosa River in Gadsden. There are many outdoor activities we can point you towards. There are several delicious restaurants in nearby Gadsden that offer take out, from Thai, to Italian, to an Irish pub as well as Back Forty, our own local brewery. There is also a great little bakery with delicious doughnuts that is open for take out called Cothrans Bakery in Gadsden. Just so you know, cell signal can be spotty here at the land. T-mobile has the best signal. Other carriers work sometimes but not consistently. The WiFi is often slow but it should work ok. Check out our other beautifully unique listings here at Nomad’s Land too! The Hobbit House: https://abnb.me/qlsM8EvjT6 Birdsong double decker bus (Birdsong and Prayerstream are close and perfect for booking together for a larger group): https://abnb.me/7U6z7XRjT6 Vintage inspired Airstream (Prayerstream) : https://abnb.me/QJmsLrTjT6 The TreeLodge: https://abnb.me/2dnc70WjT6 To use outdoor (enclosed) camp shower: Behind the outhouse you will see a outdoor water spicket and propane tank. Turn both of those to “on or open” before your shower and “off” afterwards. The temperature and water flow can be adjusted on the camp shower hot water heater. This is inside the shower. You will adjust the shower head to turn water on and off. We hope you enjoy getting clean and the sounds of nature! Guest access Enjoy the private hillside, with wildflowers blooming, and a bonfire at your private fire pit near the caboose under the starry sky. There is a screened in, shaded sitting area as well for a break from the sun and mosquitoes. Because of Covid-19 the rest of the property is not open to guests at this time. We look forward to when we can open it back up! Other things to note Nomad's Land is a Christ-centered community and retreat. We happily host travelers and wanderers seasonally, in the fall and spring and in a quieter, simpler capacity in the summer. We especially focus our lives on Rainbow Gatherings and the traveling counter-culture. You might run into some tattoos, dreadlocks, hugs and backpacks when visiting our place. Shared space needs to remain family friendly, with respect to others space and personal property. You can expect that kind of respect from us as well! Although we love furry friends, Pets are not allowed in the Barn or common spaces. We have other units that can be made available which are pet friendly. Please inquire if interested. -Illegal DRUGS *including marijuana* will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to ask you to leave without refund upon any indication of possession or use on our property. Thank you for keeping this a safe space. -Alcohol is not permitted in community spaces. - Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please dispose of all butts in the trash. Thank you!
