40’ SAILING YACHT-private marina/secure in slip/AC

Welcome Aboard! Our beautiful & spacious 40-foot sailboat will be a unique, salt-life experience to remember! She's got 2 cabins and is docked in a private marina w/ electricity, AC/heat, kitchen & more. You'll have access to amazing sunrises and sunsets, kayak, marina access, beach supplies, etc. Great location for beach access and local activities. Sailing charters can be arranged for addt’l fee. Ideal for couples or small family (5 max). PETS approved case-by-case basis for extra fee. The space Welcome Aboard! Our beautifully spacious 40-foot sailboat will be an incredibly unique and memorable salt-life experience! Envision a “floating condo” literally on the water where you can relax to gorgeous sunset and sunrise views. She's securely docked in a slip with “shore power” (i.e. full electricity), air conditioning (2 units), heating, kitchen with dual sinks, hot/cold filtered water, refrigerator, freezer, pantry storage, microwave, coffee maker, electric skillet, Yeti cooler, sleeping quarters (up to 5*), bathroom head, salon living room, television, couches, linens and towels provided, beach supplies, fishing poles, 2-person kayak, and absolutely amazing views of the Intercoastal and sunsets! SAILING CHARTERS: Sailing charters are very popular and only offered to guests who book overnight stays. Sailing rate is $650 for up to 6 people and can be a day sail or evening sunset sail. Sailing is always weather dependent and upon Captain availability. Please do not inquire about only sailing if you do not plan to stay overnight. We'll discuss sailing options AFTER your booking. We do not allow the boat to be taken out of the slip. Your rental is specifically for staying aboard overnight. Even if you have sailing experience, our insurance does not allow any sailing unless we take you. PETS: Pets must be approved before booking and on a case-by-case basis and additional fee. View our pictures for a full schematic of the boat. * In regards to sleeping arrangements, please inquire if you have more than 3 adults in your party. 2 adults can easily sleep in the queen bed located in the aft master cabin. 1-2 adults or children can sleep in the forward V-berth but that is the size of a twin bed. 2 children can easily sleep in the V-berth. There is also a sofa in the salon AND our salon table can be pushed down into an additional small bed. However, we ask guests not to push down the table unless absolutely necessary. There are also cushions and extra sheets available if you’d like to sleep on deck and watch the stars at night! Our yacht is securely tied up in its own private slip at the marina. You will have other boats next to you. She is spaciously comfortable inside, a short walk or drive to public beach access, and is safely accessible in the marina and surrounding town area. Yacht amenities: * She has two(2) cabins (“forward” and “aft” cabin). * Our yacht galley (kitchen) offers a dual sink, filtered hot and cold water, kitchenware and plates/cups, refrigerator, freezer, cabinet storage for your food pantry items, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, George Foreman grill, electric skillet. There is also a BBQ grill, picnic table and hammock at the dock master office for your use. You’ll have everything you need to keep and prepare food. However we encourage you to enjoy some of our local restaurants and cuisine. Inside our welcome document are recommended restaurants! * We do have a toilet on board. Guests are asked to use the toilet and shower facilities located in the marina rather than on the boat as often as possible. It's a very short walk (10 slips away!) and more spacious. (See note at bottom) * We provide an additional YETI cooler for you. You will need to bring your own ice. * There are eight(8) opening port-holes and three(3) hatches that provide plenty of fresh ocean breeze! (We have 2 inside air conditioners and several fans inside as well just in case.) * There are numerous storage cubbies and a closet for all your luggage. You'll be pleasantly surprised at all the storage capacity! . * Television, DVD player, radio, cards, board games and plenty of books to keep you relaxed on the boat. We also have beach games and chairs you can use. * Immediately upon going down below you’ll be amazed by the spectacular custom teak interior throughout the boat. We feel the teak alone sets this vessel far apart! Also, you'll see how spacious she is with plenty of storage all around. * Also on the boat you can take advantage of our inflatable kayak, fishing poles, fishing equipment, casting nets, beach chairs, beach equipment, beach toys, floats, kite, and so much more. We have allocated one of the bathrooms to be for beach storage as well as a loveseat patio chair on the dock with internal storage for more beach supplies. * Fishing is only allowed on the docks after marina hours. Fishing is excellent! * On deck of the yacht, the cockpit is extremely spacious and this is where you'll enjoy the sunset and sunrise views! We've added a private table that you can enjoy a meal and/or drinks while relaxing and appreciating the sound of the waves and boats passing by. The sunset views from our yacht, in my opinion, are the most beautiful along the entire coast! We're the only marina on the beachside who can experience a beautiful sunset on the Intercoastal. Our marina provides even more amenities: * Short walk or drive to the beach * Laundry * Free showers and bathrooms (see note at bottom) * BBQ grill, picnic table and seating * Free parking (decal provided & required) * Marina store providing ice, beer, water, small snacks and various supplies * The marina is a short walk, bike, car or Uber ride to the Carolina Beach pier, the Carolina Beach boardwalk, and dozens of bars and restaurants. We'll have the yacht professionally cleaned and awaiting your arrival! Self-check in. No one will greet you unless requested. Just let us know! We live a few hours away in Raleigh, NC but we have several people onsite who can be available as needed. PETS: Pets must be approved before booking and on a case-by-case basis.  We love pets and have 2 cats and 2 dogs ourselves + chickens + koi fish. However we do not bring the dogs/cats with us to the boat due to extra cleaning, wear and tear on the boat, and barking at the marina. If you are requesting to bring your furrbaby, you must inquire. We normally approve SMALLER, NON-SHEDDING pets for a nominal $50 fee + deposit + bringing extra sheets for them to sleep on. Any size dogs that minimally shed are usually not approved UNLESS you agree to more strict cleaning terms including a $150 pet fee + bringing extra sheets for them. Larger size dogs (50lbs+) whether they shed or not are generally not approved due to extra wear and tear on the boat. We've also had issues in the past with dog hair all over our couches, floors, and on top deck which requires a double cleaning. So please inquire about bringing your pet(s). We appreciate your understanding. * NOTE ABOUT BATHROOM AND SHOWER: You and your guests having the right expectation is crucial to have an incredible experience. We do all we can to EXCEED your expectations. We ask guests to use the marina facilities for the restroom/shower rather than onboard. We do have an onboard toilet for emergencies. Waste is pumped into an onboard holding container that can easily fill up quickly when used frequently. Therefore, we ask (and appreciate) guests helping us by using the marina restroom as much as possible! We’re only a few steps away from the marina facilities. Contact me to inquire about this further. We do not have a shower on board. Shower and restroom facilities are common use areas at the marina where marina boaters and transient boats passing by also use. Therefore, please understand and be aware that cleanliness is beyond our control. We recognize this is a challenge and appreciate your understanding of boat life. Expect “glamping” (i.e. glorified camping) conditions for your bathroom and shower use. Normally the ladies shower and restroom is much better. Guest access You will have full access to our yacht during your stay! You also have full access to the marina. Our marina provides even more amenities: * Laundry * Free showers and bathrooms * BBQ grill * Free parking (decal required) * Marina store providing ice, beer, water, small snacks and various supplies * The marina is a short walk, bike, car or Uber ride to the Carolina Beach pier, the Carolina Beach boardwalk, and dozens of bars and restaurants. Please note that the marina and showers are common areas for all marina patrons and transient boats passing by and filling up on fuel. Therefore, being a common area with potential high traffic, we appreciate your understanding and awareness that the status and cleanliness is beyond our control. The restrooms and showers are functional and cleaned daily by the marina staff. Please note that currently one of men’s shower stalls is in process of being renovated. Other things to note To watch our virtual tour, visit YouTube and type in: "Take a tour of our Airbnb sailboat, the “Why Knot?” * The boat is not allowed to be started or taken out of the marina unless we are onboard with you. You can add on a sailing charter option for a day or evening cruise. This will be an additional fee of $650 payable separately and up to 6 people! * Children under the age of 12, or individuals with limited swimming abilities must wear a life jacket on deck at all times. * No hard luggage suitcases. We suggest you bring soft luggage bags. * Heavy drinking is not permitted aboard. Safety is essential and we ask all guests to act responsibly. * Please be courteous of your volume while on deck. Voices and music carry over water. * We prefer guests to use the marina facilities for the restroom/shower rather than aboard. Waste and water is pumped into an onboard container so it makes sense to minimize this as much as possible! We’re only a few steps away from the marina facilities. The onboard restroom is available for emergencies. * A few of the yacht’s cabinets are for owner and supply storage. You will have more than you need so don’t worry! * Only electric appliances can be used to cook. We have turned the gas oven OFF for your safety. With so many restaurants nearby, we encourage you to eat local and enjoy the area dining options.
