Currently only available on weekends but do enquire for special weekday options. Our beautiful 1850's cottage has been lovingly restored and renovated, now offering modern facilities while retaining its old charm and warmth. A short distance from the town of Watervale, its quiet seclusion offers you a private experience to share with family and friends, yet close enough to local townships for easy access to shops, hotels, bakeries, art galleries, antique stores and of course, famous wineries. The space If your preferred dates seem blocked on our calendar, please message us as we may be able to assist. Very generous breakfast provisions to cook your own breakfast are provided for the first morning. You have access to the full pantry of cereals etc after that. This is our home which we are making available for your stay. This means you’ll notice a comfort, warmth and energy that is often missing from a formal BnB that is only used by guests. The cottage offers two full-size bedrooms within its solid stone walls (one queen bed, one double bed), plus a separate bedroom housed alongside the main building in a 1960's schoolroom sourced from the nearby Blyth Primary School (one double, one single bed). The cottage has a bathroom containing a bath, shower and toilet and a second toilet located in the laundry. The laundry has a washer and dryer. The lounge has a TV and a combustion wood heater for the cold winter nights. Wood is provided free of charge. The wood heater is not available November through March. The cottage and the schoolroom are fully airconditioned with split system aircon units and the three bedrooms also have ceiling fans. A portable fan is also available if required. The main bedroom queen bed mattress is quite firm, the second bedroom double bed mattress and all other beds are softer. Prices listed are for 4 people accessing the two main bedrooms. Extra guests are at $50 each per night. If there are 3 or 4 guests and access to the "Schoolroom" 3rd bedroom is required (ie 3 or 4 people spread over more than 2 beds/bedrooms) there will be a $50 extra one-off charge regardless of the number of nights. Weekly and monthly discounts are automated by the booking system, please enquire about discounts for 4 to 6 nights. Guest access This is your home as well as ours, so you will experience full access to all facilities. We trust that you will treat the cottage and contents with the respect we would offer you in return should we visit your home. The cottage sits on over 5 acres of land. The house yard has a vegetable garden (currently being renovated) and fruit trees that you may access for your needs during your stay and you can wander further afield up to the back paddock to view the neighbouring vines and visiting livestock. We have a few sheep of our own so any gates you pass through must be closed behind you. PLEASE MAKE SURE CHILDREN ARE SUPERVISED WITH THE SHEEP AND DO NOT CHASE THEM. Bird-life is in abundance. Other things to note Very generous breakfast provisions to cook your own breakfast are provided for the first morning. You may access pantry contents which include dry cereals, oats and spreads for subsequent mornings. Fridge contents may be used but not the freezer. The nearby Watervale General Store does an amazing breakfast you might try on other mornings. No smoking inside. The house is serviced only by rainwater so we ask that you use this wisely. There are steep steps, without handrails, from the verandah down to the gazebo and to the clothes line. Young children/toddlers and the elderly or frail will require supervision/assistance. Mobile phone reception by Telstra and Optus is good but check coverage with your provider if you use a different company. Free, unlimited WiFi is available in the house and there is also a free landline phone if required. No access to international calls. The cottage is a short distance off the main road on a good quality unsealed road. Please - any gates you pass through must be closed behind you.
