It takes about 2 minutes to walk from the porch to pitch your umbrella on the blue flag beach. There is a 5km paved bicycle and joggers path starting right in front of the gate. Enjoy days at the house or the beach without having to travel. For adventurous explorers, we have compiled a list of things to do and see, that includes a few lesser known spots. The list is kept at the house and can be emailed to guests. Summer or winter, it doesn't matter, the list of things to do is endless. In fact you can do something new every day for a month or more. It is Keurbooms tradition to walk from Enrico's restaurant to Cathedral Rock and try to throw a stone through the arch. Along the way you can explore a cave at low-tide that connects with the sea, or watch the water spray out at high tide. Certain times of the year children love to play or have picnic next to the Matjies river. Alternative beaches in Plett include Look-out beach & lagoon, Beacon Isle beach & lagoon, 5th Beach and Robberg beach in Plettenberg Bay. A must see is the beautiful Storms River Nature Reserve. You can take one of the worlds most picturesque walks to the hang bridge that crosses the Storms River Mouth. Braai (barbecue) at the Rest-camp area. Watch the spectacular waves crash against the rocks. Snorkel in the Marine Reserve and explore the fantastic rock pools. Or take a kayak / lilo down the Storms River with Untouched Adventures. You can rent kayaks at the Nature's Valley lagoon for a day outing. Closer to home you can rent a small boat or kayaks and explore the Keurbooms River. There are a few beaches along the river banks, perfect for picnics. Another must do, is the circular walk at the Garden of Eden Forest trail situated between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna. There are tables and benches in the forest for Picnics. There are many picnic spots around Knysna, such as Jubilee Creek and others on the list. The Big Tree - Also known as the King Edward VII tree, is a famous landmark and visitor attraction near Diepwalle Forest Station. It is an Outeniqua yellowwood worth seeing up close. The tree is 800+ years old. A trip to the Garden Route is not complete without visiting the Knysna Heads. You can view it from the upper viewpoint (not for those with serious fear of heights), or view it from the bottom viewpoint. Another great option is to take a ferry through the heads and have lunch at The Featherbed restaurant. The Garden Route has numerous day hikes to choose from. Robberg Nature Reserve next to Plettenberg Bay is one of our favorites. Robberg means "Seal Mountain". You can see countless seals basking in the sun and swim close to shore. On a clear day, you might spot some Great White Sharks from the upper footpath on the eastern side. Another favorite is at Hakerville, (where you can rent mountain bikes as well). Or, the Elephant walks - These three trails are a scenic delight with clear streams and mysterious green beauty. They follow old woodcutter trails in some parts, taking the hiker past some stately old Outeniqua yellow wood trees. There are also countless commercial tourist sites and activities, such as Monkeyland, Adventure Land Water Park, Elephant Sanctuary, Tenikwa Wild Cat Experience and more. Come to Keurbooms to relax or discover some new adventures. We will share our list with you and hope you will enjoy your stay. You are most welcome! Guest access During your stay the entire house is at your disposal. Other things to note Apple Smart TV and WIFI
