2 Calgow Cottages is a fully refurbished semi-detached cottage in the heart of Galloway, within walking distance of Newton Stewart, described as the 'Gateway to the Galloway Hills'. Our large garden backs on to the mature woodlands of Kirroughtree Forest, famous for its recreational offering including bike shop and cafe, walking trails, and home to one of the 'seven stanes' mountain biking sites. Closeby are miles of coastline, hills, and spectacular scenery, ideal for that perfect getaway. The space The house has 3 bedrooms, with the ground floor bedroom able to be two single beds, or super king. The king master bedroom comes with en-suite. The third bedroom is set up with two single beds. Superfast fibre broadband is provided. A wood burning stove is located in the open-plan living space for those cosy nights in. A large summer house is located in the garden, with shed for storing bikes or kayaks. The rear hillside garden gives amazing views towards Wigtown, and situated just outside Newton Stewart allows stargazers to take full advantage of world-famous Galloway Dark Skies Park, which this cottage lies within. A short 10-minute walk will take you into Newton Stewart for pubs, shops and restaurants. 7kw Electric Vehicle charge point now installed for use by guests. 2 dogs are welcome at the cottage but these are charged at £30 per dog.
