"La Maquisarde" nature gîte

Guaranteed to be a favorite! In the Grands Causses Regional Park, this cozy cottage for 6 people (up to 8 people) will welcome you. Nature lovers or those who need to recharge away from all the hustle and bustle, you've come to the right place! A place conducive to well-being with magnificent views of the valley. For maximum relaxation, a private sauna! Trails from the cottage, and to cool off in summer, swimming in the Lévezou lakes or in the Tarn is a real pleasure! The space La Maquisarde is located in a place made up of 2 independent houses, including that of the owner, a barn dating from 1929, a bread oven, and an old chestnut dryer. It is an isolated hamlet where we are the only ones living there, in the heart of still-wild nature where it is common to come across deer, foxes and many other animals... As well as a rich population of birds! A beautiful energy flows here... La Maquisarde is a detached house with a warm and bright living room, a kitchen area, a dining area and a lounge facing a large wood-burning stove for evenings by the fire... This room overlooks a large sheltered terrace (50 m2), facing south with a magnificent view of the valley and the Lacaune mountains, a real treat in all seasons, and with direct access to the sauna. It is available to you as a continuation of the terrace, and it runs on wood. A real moment of relaxation for body and soul... On the ground floor, there is the bathroom/WC, and upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms and 1 WC, all equipped with a 140 cm double bed (very new memory foam bedding), one of which also has twin beds. Bedrooms 1 and 2 are south-facing with views of the surrounding mountains, and bedroom 3 is north-facing, with views of the stone buildings, the forest and the "sécadou" with its slate roof... The place has 3 springs, centuries-old oaks, small terraced pasture plots, all surrounded by a chestnut forest... You can also taste the honey from this area and the apple juice made from the fruit of our trees! There are horses and a mule all around. You will have access to the orchard, vegetable garden, and the surrounding woods with trails starting from La Maquisarde. A Norwegian bath/Jacuzzi has been added to the outdoor spa facilities. The jacuzzi is available for a fee (wood and maintenance) of €50 for 2 sessions and €10 per additional session. Payment will be made in cash on site. It is wood-fired, and the spring water (the overflow) is replaced for each stay, from November to May. In the summer, we treat the water and it can be used as a refreshment for young and old!! Regarding the Norwegian bath, we provide you with all the wood necessary to prepare the fire and supply the stove (allow for a heating time that varies according to the season - in winter, about 4 hours for the first session). In general, we are happy to take care of the first heating!! For safety reasons, the use of the hot tub is strongly discouraged on stormy days. Your children must be under your supervision, and we recommend that adults not go there alone, in case of discomfort! We thank you for respecting the basic hygiene measures (rinsing before entering, removing self-tanner, and tying back your hair, etc.). Guests particularly enjoy using it under a starry sky, or during the day with a view of the valley. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property. Other things to note We accept animals under certain conditions, we are ourselves passionate about animals and have dogs, horses and donkeys, so we ask dog owners to keep them under surveillance outside, they will not have access to the floor either and a deposit check of €200 will be requested upon arrival. A request in advance is highly recommended! Do not leave animals alone in the accommodation! To make sure everything goes smoothly, we do not accept animals that are aggressive towards other animals or humans! Well-behaved pets and responsible owners are welcome!! Thank you for understanding.
