The Old Grainstore is one of a pair of beautiful contemporary barn conversion holiday cottages, where you can experience life on a working farm and get closer to nature, whilst staying in the lap of luxury. Situated just 5 miles from the Lake District, the peaceful, rural location means you can get away from it while being ideally based for exploring the Lake District, Solway Coast, the historic border city of Carlisle, Hadrians Wall and the Scottish Borders. Super family friendly too ! The space The Old Grainstore is a stylish and spacious barn conversion cottage sleeping up to 6 plus up to two babies. Converted from a 200-year old barn, retaining original features, such as exposed brickwork and oak beams, but also having the feel of a boutique interior. The large living room is very smart and comfortable, with a smooth wood floor and lovely huge ceiling to floor window overlooking the farm yard, a pair of deep sofas, large Freesat TV, DVD player, and wood burning stove. The dining kitchen includes an electric oven with a ceramic hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing/dryer machine and a table with 6 chairs, plus high chairs are available. On the first floor, the master bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite shower room with a WC. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third has two single beds that on request can be zip and linked to make a Super king-size bed. The master bedroom and double bedroom have space for travel cots and all three bedrooms have a TV. The contemporary-styled family bathroom has a bath with Separate quadrant shower, a washbasin and WC. Outside, the cottage has a patio with a dining table and chairs, BBQ on request plus a safe enclosed shared grass garden area with picnic tables and space for children to play. The Old Grainstore ia a Green Gold award winner and we are very proud of our eco friendly credentials. There is off-road parking for up to three cars, a secure cycle store and a tap for washing muddy bikes and boots. There's also free wifi if you find it impossible to leave work behind or you have teenagers suffering from social media withdrawal. Other things to note This is a quiet site in the evening as we often have guests with small children We regret that we have a strict no pets policy due to our farm dogs, who are very friendly with humans but not other pets!
