Description
Experience LA from above. At 1400 ft elevation it is one of the highest spots in the Hollywood Hills. Featured by the magazine LA Weekly as one of the most creative vacation rentals in LA. Enjoy your stay in this beautiful vintage Airstream with a spacious private deck. It is located in a quiet neighborhood. Spectacular views (Canyons, the Hollywood Sign, City lights, Downtown LA). Wake up with the sun rising over downtown in the mornings and enjoy beautiful sunsets on the private deck. The space This is not just an old trailer., it is a vintage 1969 Airstream Globetrotter (Landyacht) that was stripped and redesigned, and yet kept a lot of it's original charm. It is converted into a cozy "tiny-home" with a little bathroom (toilet, sink and shower) It opens to a huge cantilevered deck with stunning views of the Hollywood sign, Santa Monica Mountains, Downtown LA, beautiful canyon views and LA city lights at night. For nature lovers there is an additional shower allowing views over downtown and Hollywood sign, while having a shower...) Please do not ignore the many warning signs regarding the use of the toilet and pay attention and follow the signs what can NOT be flushed down the toilet. Hear the coyotes at night and try spot them during dusk or dawn. Watch the soaring hawks in the sky and hear the owls hooting. If you are lucky you may spot deer in the early morning hours. Keep in mind: it is an airstream (not a hotel suite with a king size bed). It sleeps 2, but you better know each other well :-) It is cozy. The mattress measures 86" x 48" (218 cm x 124 cm). Bedsheets, pillows and towels will be provided. Guest access Equipped with High-Speed wireless internet, TV (no cable - only the few stations that are received via HD antenna), Apple TV (with access to the library with all TV shows and Movies that I have purchased over time). Or you can log in with your own Apple ID and access your personal library. There is an iPod connected to a sound system (you may also plug in your own source e.g. ipad, iphone, etc.). There are power outlets with built-in USB ports for charging devices without using an adapter. There is no kitchen. It is equipped with a Nespresso coffee maker, a fridge, a water kettle, AC, a little heater fan if needed and a heated electrical blanket (for the few cold nights we get up here). There is a small bathroom with toilet, shower and sink (instant hot water). Towels are provided. In addition to the bathroom there is an outdoor shower (with warm water) for the adventurers and nature lovers. Other things to note KITCHEN/COOKING - There is no kitchen in the airstream (it only has a fridge, Coffee Maker, Hot Water maker) The printed "guidebook" contains a list of my favorite restaurants and places nearby. Most of the menus are available online. Some of the restaurants deliver food to the airstream. BATHROOM/TOILET - PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY WASTE IN THE TOILET. The airstream is equipped with a sophisticated toilet system used on boats and marine (it does flush and grind in one go, so there is never any unwanted odors, etc.). Please DO NOT flush any objects or anything OTHER THAN toilet paper in the toilet. There are additional rolls of toilet in the closet. NO kitchen paper and NO paper towels in the toilet PLEASE (THEY DO NOT DISSOLVE and WILL CLOG the grinding mechanism). I've had this happen. When clogged, the toilet can't be cleaned by using a snake. It requires a plumbing service to remove the entire toilet and disassemble the motor and clean and remove objects. If you clog the toilet due to improper use (by ignoring all warning signs) there will be a charge of $180 to fix it. The inconvenience for me and the additional cost can easily be avoided. So please be considerate. WINDOWS/VENTS - Please mind the windows and the air vent in the ceiling. They are fragile. If they are not closed and secured when it gets windy they could break. Not only are parts and windows hard to find for those vintage trailers, they are expensive, too. Please be cautious and responsible during your stay. DECK/FIREPIT - No use of candles, please. The cleaning fee does not cover special cleaning like removing wax drippings from furniture, deck-floors etc. If you enjoy and use the fire pit, please make sure to shut it off when you are not present and before you go to bed. It is not meant for grilling or cooking food (No marshmallows, etc. - don't laugh, I had guests who tried...) TRASH - As we often have same-day turnovers, please remove trash from unit prior to departure. Trash cans are at street level as you walk down the stairs to your car. Trash left behind attracts ants in no time. Trash/food left outside on the deck gets attention from crows (leaving a big mess behind) ACCESS/PARKING - There is a fairly steep ramp leading up to the airstream. Most cars won't make it up because they sit too low to the ground. I recommend to use the designated parking by the retaining wall. Should you decide to drive up that ramp, it is solely at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any damages to you and/or your vehicle. Registration details HSR19-000740
