This is a somewhat nostalgic town where steam locomotives run and the Oigawa River flows, sparkling in shades of blue and green. Visit Thomas the Tank Engine, enjoy playing in the river, and relax in the hot springs.Since it is located almost halfway between Tokyo and Osaka, it is also used for family trips, three-generation trips, and gatherings with friends and family. Kuma no Yaha is a traditional Japanese-style house located on the banks of the Oigawa River, and it is limited to one group per day. We carefully renovated a 90-year-old traditional house, making the areas around water comfortable while retaining the charm of the old building.It's a space with black polished beams, the scent of tatami mats, and old-fashioned fixtures and patterned glass. Open the sliding doors to find a large 34-tatami-mat space with four connected Japanese-style rooms.It's okay if small children run around. The kitchen is equipped with a full set of cooking utensils, dishes, and basic condiments, so you can easily cook for yourself. Gather around the dinner table and enjoy chatting until late at night, or relax under the kotatsu. It's a nostalgic experience, like gathering at someone's country house. There are no fancy services, but we have created a space where you can have a pleasant stay, with seasonal flowers, sun-dried cotton futons, and more. We hope you can get away from your hectic daily life and spend time with your loved ones. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and basic condiments. We have prepared cooking utensils and condiments so that you can enjoy cooking comfortably while on vacation, and we have made the kitchen user-friendly through our own many times of cooking there, so please try cooking for yourself while on vacation. Please note that there are no restaurants or supermarkets within walking distance of the accommodation. We recommend that you finish your shopping before coming. There is a small rest area in the backyard. Use a tree stump as a table, bring out the outdoor chairs next to the entrance, and enjoy your morning coffee or a light breakfast. It gets dark at night, so I recommend the morning when the sunlight filtering through the trees is pleasant. Feel free to use the mosquito coils in the summer as well. There are also earthenware pots and cassette stoves for rent. Other things to note The accommodation is located along the national highway, and there is a quarry across the road. During the day, you may hear the sound of vehicles and construction, so if you are sensitive to noise, we recommend using the Japanese-style room on the mountain side as your bedroom. Also, since it is a renovated 90-year-old traditional house, it does not have the airtightness and soundproofing of a modern home. There are characteristics unique to old buildings, such as drafts, rattling fixtures, and, depending on the season, the entry of insects. Therefore, we recommend it to those who can enjoy the unique atmosphere of an old traditional house. We provide heaters in the winter, but due to the structure of the building, it may take some time for the room to warm up.It would be reassuring if you could bring warm clothes.
