Welcome to Rimba Villas, a cluster of serene, private retreats nestled in the NW nook of Gili Air, only 100m from the beach. Kayu is our split level two-beds villa comprising a private pool & tropical gardens. We’ve taken care of all the facilities you need: king size bed with 100% cotton linens, AC, hot water, safe box, minibar, coffees & teas and daily housekeeping. Welcome to your personal tropical escape! The space We created this villa with one guiding principle: take inspiration from and keep proximity to the natural native environment. You’ll find organic architecture crafted with natural materials, sourced from the surrounding islands. Villa Kayu is a gorgeous split-level villa comprising two large bedrooms both with their own unique en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, sundeck and terrace and a private pool surrounded by tropical gardens. The master bedroom on the upper floor has views over the garden and pool and in the evenings you can idle on the mezzanine to watch the sunset. The master en-suite bathroom has a bespoke basin area, a hot water shower and quality body soap, shampoo and conditioner. On the ground floor, you’ll find the second bedroom, which can open up entirely onto the sundeck to allow in the breeze and let you enjoy your beautiful surroundings. And this bedroom boasts an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor tropical shower… so you’ll have a hard decision whether to stay upstairs or downstairs! Each bedroom is furnished to provide you with relaxation inducing comfort! Both are fully air-conditioned and have king size beds with extra thick mattresses and quality cotton linens. The rooms have open wardrobes and work desks and we’ve included handy international sockets so you can charge your devices. And of course, wifi is available throughout the property! The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for those who want to show off their newly acquired cooking skills after attending one of the island’s popular Indonesian cooking classes. No energy to do the shopping? Don’t worry, just ask a staff member and we’ll be happy to do the shopping for you. We’ve stocked the kitchen fridge with a selection of local and international beverages and if you’d like some fresh juices, hot drinks and small plates, these can be served upon request. A drinking water dispenser is at your disposal and we encourage you to use refill bottles over purchasing single use plastic to reduce the impact on the island’s fragile environment. The large terrace and sundeck areas include comfortable chairs and beanbags for chill out moments in your private villa. And we’re pretty sure you’ll be indulging in the luxury of your private pool and tropical garden. If requested, a single bed can be placed in the master bedroom to accommodate one additional child or adult. Villa Kayu is located within the Rimba complex, a small eco-friendly resort of only three unique organic villas all with their own soul and character. Our friendly local staff of seven will be at your service 24h ensuring you have the best experience possible in and outside your villa. You’ll find several dining options along the closest beach, which is only 100 meters walk (2 mins) from your villa, or, if you wish to have your meals delivered, just ask our staff and they’ll take care of everything. Once you arrive in Gili Air we’ll be able to help you organise your activities and perhaps point out a few more things that you may like to do. Since we are on an island, you can guess that water sports are the most popular type of pursuits! Power cuts and voltage drop occasionally happen on the whole island, and at Rimba we’ve got you covered with an electric generator. Outside your private residence you'll also have access to the reception and bicycle parking area. Other things to note Long before the arrival of your cozy resort, this scenic island already had its tiny dwellers like mosquitos, geckos, and spiders. We thrive with the highest cleaning and pest control standards and do our best to keep them out of hotel doors. However, some creatures will inevitably pay us a visit.
