Come stay at an old winemakers house that has been beautifully renovated by your host and family with open plan and airy living. Situated on the north side of the island, there is a small bar/cafe in the village which is a 5 minute drive, a large supermarket and many restaurants/cafes in Santana which is a 10 minute drive.The weather can be hot and humid but also bring fresh wind and rain. In the summer months the house stays cools, there is a log burner and plenty of blankets to keep you cosy. The space We are situated on the north side of Madeira island where you will find a very different feel from the south. We are surrounded by the sea and mountains, giving us superb views of the lush vegetation and magnificent sea. Some of the original features still remain such as a traditional bread oven in the kitchen and an ancient grapevine grows in the centre of the house. Enjoy your morning coffee with the sounds of birds chirping, lizards playing in the sunshine and unwind in the evening with a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace, whilst enjoying the uninterrupted sea view and during the summer a magnificent Sunset. Madeira Portugal require hosts to register all guests with the Immigration and Border Agency(SEF). Guests must supplyID/ passport details to the host on arrival. Madeira has introduced a tourist tax of 2 Euros per person per night with a maximum of 7 nights. There is also a Levada/Hike fee of 3 Euros per person per hike. Guest access Guests have access to the entire living space on one floor. You also have access to the driveway, small front courtyard and terrace above the property. you will not be sharing the property with any other guests during your stay Other things to note As we are located on the rural north of Madeira Island, in a small parish, hiring a car is the best way to get around.
