Come to Lloyd's Landing for a taste of midcentury life. Our 4 bedroom, 1 bath cabin is on a quiet corner of South Twin Lake, just 45 min west of Itasca. It's the perfect place to escape from the buzz of the high tech world. In true mid-mod style, we have no TV and we're a little light on clocks. But that's the point: unplug yourself for awhile. Play some board games. Grill with real charcoal. We have two kayaks, a row boat, and some floaty toys to enjoy the clear water and sandy lake bottom. The space You have the use of your own dock and flat access to the lake. The kids will love swimming off the dock because of the soft sandy lake bottom and no drop offs. There is a public boat launch across the lake. Our cabin is extremely family-friendly. In the Master Suite, the front bedroom has two twin beds, and is connected to the back bedroom, which has a pillow top-queen size bed. In the Guest Suite, the front room is our "escape room" with a chaise lounge, and the back bedroom has a standard double bed. So there is bed space for 6, and two more can easily sleep on the queen sized futon sofa in the living room. Lloyd's Landing offers a refuge from the noise and clutter of the high tech world. We have no TV or landline. (We have installed wi-fi, if you really need it). Hiking and mountain biking are easily accessible from the back door. Our fully enclosed porch is the perfect place to watch the sunset, and our outdoor fire pit is ideal for storytelling and marshmallow roasting. But if watching the sunset in a gliding rocker is not how you reconnect, bring your four wheelers and rev it up on the trails and logging roads of the adjacent White Earth State Forest. With a variety of terrain and trails, the forest has more than 65 miles of dual purpose forest roads, and connects with the Forest Riders' ATV Trail, a 101-mile trail connecting the Two Inlets State Forest, White Earth State Forest and Becker and Hubbard counties managed forest lands. Although our mid-century cottage is on the edge of the state forest, life's necessities are just ¼ mile away at the Pinehurst Resort, which includes a gas station, a general store, a full restaurant and bar, and boat rentals. The Village Store in Naytahwaush is the local grocery store, offering vegetables, meats, and a wider selection of grocery items. Lloyd's Landing is ideally situated just 45 minutes north of Detroit Lakes and only 15 miles from the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. Lake Itaska, where you will find the headwaters of the Mississippi River, is a scenic 45 minute drive. Guest access In addition to our cozy cottage, you also have access to the out buildings, where we store water toys, two beach bikes, and a lawn mower--just in case lake life is too relaxing. (hahaha!) Other things to note We provide bedding, but please bring your own towels. Our housekeeping service doesn't have enough time to wash towels in between guests. We provide a welcome packet that outlines things to do in the area.
