Description

Escape to the sanctuary of the countryside yet only steps from a local café. This one-bedroom guest house in a beautifully converted barn sits on six acres with views of fields, forest, and the Adirondacks. Enjoy trails for biking, hiking, and skiing right outside, Lake Champlain just 5 minutes away, plus access to gardens, orchards, and an apothecary garden. Ideal for biohackers, wellness seekers, and anyone craving a restorative homestead stay. The space Perfect for a rustic, country getaway where you can curl up with a glass of wine by the fire—or for those seeking to unplug, recharge, or even settle in for a productive work stay. The Greenbush Barn boasts original details from 1899, such as hand-hewn beams and wide-plank floors, while being thoughtfully converted into a charming guest house. The main level includes an open concept kitchen and dining area, a cozy bedroom with east-facing windows, and a bathroom with both a shower and a claw-foot tub—perfect for a long soak after a day outdoors. A fireplace in the living room makes the space especially inviting for winter retreats. On the second floor, you’ll find a spacious loft living room and office area with a large library and sweeping views of the property. It’s an ideal setting for remote work, creative projects, or simply curling up with a good book—fun fact: bestselling books have been written right here in this loft. Guests have access to our newly installed Finnish sauna and cold plunge, the perfect restorative pairing after skiing, hiking, or simply exploring the countryside. Our property is also well-suited for biohackers, wellness seekers, or anyone craving a restorative reset. While we offer strong WiFi, it can be switched off at night, and the barn is free from Bluetooth devices, making it comfortable for EMF-sensitive guests. For those who want to go deeper, we can also provide grounding sheets on the bed. The interior emphasizes natural fibers and materials to support a healthier environment. We are a working homestead, and guests are welcome to wander the property as they wish. Experience the rhythms of farm life—watching or even helping with chickens, ducks, emus, turkeys, guinea fowl, and piglets. You’ll also find expansive vegetable gardens, fruit orchards, and a small apothecary garden for budding herbalists. The barn runs entirely on solar power, our well water is fed by the Green Mountains, and we never spray chemicals on the property. Walking down to the greenhouse terrace with a morning coffee to watch butterflies and bird life is a favorite for many guests—and birders especially enjoy spotting the variety of species, including nesting hummingbirds. For those looking to truly unplug, it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the pace and simplicity of homestead living. Whether you’re visiting for a ski weekend, a countryside escape, or a restorative stay, the Greenbush Barn offers a unique blend of history, comfort, and wellness-focused amenities. Guest access Guests will have the entire guest house to themselves, along with full access to wander our six-acre property. Say hello to the free-range ducks and chickens, or stop by the enclosure to meet our two beloved emus, Blue and Echo. After a cold winter day, you can warm up in our newly installed Finnish sauna (located in a separate outbuilding). Just note it takes about an hour to heat up, so plan ahead for your session. Skiers are also welcome to request use of our ski tuning and sharpening room to get gear ready for the slopes. If you’re looking for a longer stroll without getting in the car, there are 60 acres of town land directly across from the property—perfect for peaceful walks, and ideal for dog owners who want to let their pups run off leash. Other things to note Guests are free to wander the property and enjoy the gardens, orchards, animals, and homestead life at their own pace. Depending on the season, you might find us making maple syrup in the spring, collecting honey in the fall, harvesting vegetables, or gathering fresh eggs from the chickens. If you’re curious about these activities, just ask—we’re happy to share more. For those who are EMF-sensitive or simply looking for a restorative reset, we can provide grounding sheets and Epsom salts on request. We’re pet-friendly and love welcoming furry guests. Please note there is a $30 per day additional cleaning fee, and we ask that dogs be kept on leash at all times. We live and work on the property and are glad to share more about homestead living if guests want to learn, but we also respect privacy for those seeking solitude.
