Our century old farmhouse is 10 minutes from downtown Portland in the friendly Rosemont neighborhood. The space is the upstairs of our house and consists of a queen bedroom A small twin bed room - and a common living area that greets the morning sun Peaceful and relaxing. The suite will sleep one couple Or two singles comfortably. The space Our home is a century old farmhouse built in 1800 with a very interesting history as it was moved to it's present location in 1853. "The house that went up the hill" it was called ...later becoming Sunny View Farm. The existing barn was built in 1723. We raised our family here - now they are all grown so we decided to share the warmth of this old house - our gardens and beautiful little Portland with folks that want to explore our city by the sea. Unique and warm - Every one says "it's like being in the country but you're right in Portland !" The house is located on a third acre of land up on a small hill on a well traveled street during early mornings and evening commutes. The best part of it all is that house and barn are obscured by a stone wall and tall hedge which leaves it private and quite ... The suite is the UPSTAIRS of the house. Ideally the suite is perfect for a couple - or two singles. Suite consists of one comfortable queen bedroom-smaller single twin bedroom and common front room with a small fridge - microwave- coffee maker and essentials to do warm up cooking and snacks. There are comfortable chairs , a table for working or playing a board game or eating and a small loveseat The bathroom has fresh towels - we stock things like tooth paste/ brushes- hairdryer and anything you might have lost or forgotten on your trip. Each room in the summer is air conditioned from July 1 until Sept 30 or a fan is in place - fall -spring and winter a hand made wool blanket from our family blanket company is there to take the chill off ! Guest access IMPORTANT NOTE - Due to the unpredictability of the Covid 19 virus we are requiring all guests be healthy and vaccinated for Covid 19 Ann’s CDC compliant before arrival. If there is an uptick in a variant we might ask for a rapid test before arrival. We also can provide tests. As our guests you will have a private entrance in the front of the house to access the "Treehouse " as our youngest Josh once called it .. At the top of the staircase you will find a bathroom to the right and to the left a small hall leads to the very comfortable quiet queen bedroom - a small single twin bedroom and a larger room with a loveseat comfortable chairs a fold out table . Also in the living room is a small refrigerator - microwave - coffee /tea maker and a few cups -wine glasses - silverware - paper plates and corkscrew / can opener etc provided for minimal cooking ... Upon your arrival we will meet and greet you . We provide freshly baked bread and fruit as well as coffee/tea in the mini kitchen for your first morning ... Our queen room sleeps two persons comfortably and the twin bed are brand new . A couple or two single adults are ideal . The bathroom and a dormer shower (ht 6'2") is filled with fresh towels -hairdryer - and little things like soap - tooth paste in case you forget ! Access to the side garden and patio where there are comfortable chairs to relax in as the sun sets on a beautiful summers evening or morning coffee in the front yard sunshine. Parking is off street for one car . One space in the driveway for you during your stay.. We hope you will enjoy the side garden patio and front gardens for relaxing out doors. If you have bikes we are happy to store them in our secure barn over the nights and when not in use. Lawn chairs can be borrowed if you like ..beach towels -chairs and cooler are also available as well as a list of beautiful places to enjoy Casco Bay During your stay This month we celebrate our eleventh year hosting Airbnb guests and we continue to truly have wonderful experiences. We have had many guests from all over the USA , Canada and from many countries around the world - all leaving a lasting impression and new found friendships that we so treasure .... We are respectful and your privacy is important to us and we honor your presence at our home. That said - We live on the first floor of the house with our shy but friendly little pal Hank ( a golden retriever /corgi mutt. .. Our family visits frequently especially our 5 little grandchildren and as do our friends and neighbors.. We are always busy but always available for questions. We ask that as we respect your time here for a relaxing stay that quiet times are from 10:30PM til 8:30 AM. My husband Dan has an office in the loft down stairs and even though we do enjoy the quiet we are very happy to share information of best kept secrets in Portland and help you navigate the area. In short - We love where we live and hope you will too! Other things to note There is WiFi available - No TV - We welcome you when you arrive. If it is earlier than expected you can leave your luggage in the front hall just let us know ahead of arrival and we'll adjust . Your room will have fresh flowers - clean towels and freshly made beds ... Tidying up after yourselves will be greatly appreciated. We do ask that you please strip beds when leaving and leave all linens and towels in the bathroom . Also please leave windows open when you leave. Please do not open windows with Air Conditioners in them ! Very Important Please No Unauthorized Guests
