Parish Mill Cottage is the perfect place for couple, families and small groups to relax, unwind and explore the ancient Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Our beautiful cottage has exposed beams and original stonework which is complemented by the homely décor and furnishings providing modern comfort. We are located just outside the picturesque village of Longhope, on the outskirts of the Forest of Dean, & Wye Valley. The space Mill Cottage is just one of two delightful holiday cottages that Parish Mill Holidays is proud to present, situated in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Combining period features with modern décor, Mill Cottage provides comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to 5 guests with 2 en-suite bedrooms. It has been beautifully decorated throughout with soft furnishings and paintings from local artists, all of which can be purchased locally. The listing states 4 guests, however we can cater for a fifth person (families of 5) which is charged at £25 per night. Situated in the owners beautiful well-maintained gardens and 5 acre field, Mill Cottage dates back to the 17th century. It was a grain storage barn for Parish Mill which is next door, and has been our family home since 2014. The Mill was formerly one of the most important watermills in Gloucestershire and produced flour until the end of 1946. (Parish Mill still retains its waterwheel). There is a fully equipped Kitchen with everything you will need – dishwasher, fridge freezer and a coffee machine. And of course, not forgetting the little ones, we have plenty of plastic plates, cups and cutlery. Leading from the kitchen is the dining room with a large farmhouse table with seating for 6 people. The dining room then leads through into the Living Room with a Smart TV, large leather sofa, snuggle chair and a wood burner. A complimentary basket of wood, kindling and fire lighters are provided for your first fire during the winter months. After which you can purchase logs from the local shop in Longhope or you are more than welcome to bring your own. We offer free, reliable and fast Sky Wi-fi. Due to the age of the property and the thickness of the walls the wi-fi does not work in the living room. Having spent your day exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, why not end your day star gazing in the Cottages private hot tub. The hot tub is for your exclusive use and can be booked in advance of your stay for an additional cost starting from £75. We welcome 1 dog to the Cottage (by prior agreement please message me) and there is a charge of £25 for a dog per stay. We leave poo bags, water and food bowels in the entrance porch for you. If your dog has got a bit muddy whilst on your walk, then there is an outside tap for your use by the kitchen window. I will send you some information on dog friendly pubs and restaurants in the area once your booking has been confirmed. There's lots of local information, maps and leaflets on days out for your information. There are so many great cycle routes and paths in the Forest - why not bring your bike? We have lockable stables and a bike wash area. Guest access We have a minimum 2 night stay policy. Guests have full access to the garden & grounds. An additional charge of £50 per night for any guests over 4 with a maximum of 5 guests per stay. Other things to note A Hot Tub is available to rent during your stay for an additional charge. Please enquire about the hot tubs at booking stage. This MUST be requested prior to your arrival. Please contact us for pricing and further information. Prior arrangement is required for Hen Parties.
