The Ballard neighborhood itself is full of attractions of its own including nightlife, movies, a excellent bookshop, restaurants and bars, great live music, delicious organic produce at the Ballard Market and the fantabulous Ballard Farmer's Market every Sunday morning rain or shine with far more than food to draw your attention (though the produce is pretty spectacular!). The house is close to Carkeek Park trail where you can see the Puget Sound and the glorious sunset; a must. You are also very close to Golden Garden Park and beach, and Green Lake for decent walks, 5 minutes to Northgate Mall and many other amenities like multiple choices of restaurants & movie theaters. One and a half block away from the house there is a large QFC grocery store with a pharmacy and a post office with National and International services. You will have access to high speed Wi-Fi internet, cable, TV, Netflix, and FREE street parking. You can watch TV all night in your room, you just need to turn the volume down after 10:30 pm to respect other guests' schedules.You are also welcome to watch TV in the family room until 10:30 pm; it is a 60 inch TV with 3D and we will provide you with the glasses to enjoy the special effects. Your room will have everything you need to enjoy what amounts to a small suite: dishes, silverware, glasses, cups, refrigerator, microwave oven, ironing /board, clock radio, flat-screen TV ,DVD player with movies available to watch or use Netflix. Please place your dirty dishes on the tray or basin and put it right outside of your room for prompt replacement with clean dishes. Laundry is included with washer and dryer and there is a small ironing board in your room, and a large ironing board in the bathroom; ask forf the iron. You are always welcome to be around the house. Please feel comfortable, just like you were in your own home. Use the kitchen, the utensils, pots and pans, seasonings and/ or BBQ on gas or charcoal at no extra cost. The bathroom is well designed and supplied with shampoos, conditioner & soaps gel on the wall, shower caps, dental toothpaste, dental floss, deodorants, toe nail clipper, combs and brushes. Sanitary pads and pant liners available, and tissues You will have hair dryer, curly and flat iron in your room and in the bathroom You will have fresh colorful towels, extra towels and bathrobes in your rooms, just keep it hanging behind your bedroom door after each shower. The QFC supermarket is open every day 24 hours a day. It contains a Starbucks, a fast food Chinese food chain and an extensive collection of beers and wine. We have many restaurants and amenities just around QFC and across from QFC on Holman Rd. like: Louisa's Mexican Restaurant, Papa John's Pizza Mr. and Mrs. Wok, Teriyaki restaurant, Choi's Mongolian Grill, Patty's Egg Nest the best place for Breakfast in Seattle from 7:00 am until 9:00 pm, and many others... Public Transport The bus situation from the house is terrific, heading straight to Ballard and downtown frequently from stops very close by. The Bus stop of # 28, (runs every 20 minutes) 1-block away from the house and D-line (runs every 10 minutes 7/ 24 (days/hours) and is 1/1/2 block away from the house. There other buses too like: #40, #15 and # 5 with one to a few blocks from the house. I do have Flor's Bank Box to provide you with the exact change for the bus. This is a comfortable, private room with a friendly landlady and a dynamic neighborhood short blocks away - with a fabulous city a mere bus ride away. There are no time restrictions of when you come in or go out from the house because the house and the rooms are KEYLESS your room has a safety deposit box. Some of the rooms will have some movies available or you can choose to use Netflix. You will have umbrellas available just-in-case.If you need me to take your special clothing to the dry cleaners also just let me know. AIRPORT SERVICES We provide service with pickups and drop-off from and to the airport. If you need to be picked up or dropped off at the airport just let me know during the reservation negotiations. If you need someone to take you shopping, or for a tour of the Emerald City just let me know at any time during your stay. I am also a great listener and a shoulder to cry on if you are taking a trip to reevaluate your life am also happy to practice Spanish with you, if that would be helpful. CATERING If you need me to prepare a sack lunch to take to your seminar, work, class or tour, I will be happy to do it for a very reasonable fee. If you would like to take some food out to your family or friends that you are visiting or a pot luck, family picnic, weddings, I can prepare some traditional Peruvian trays of food for you and also deliver it. If you would like to have a bouquet of fresh flowers or roses, chocolates, champagne, dish of special cheese and crackers, fruit or vegetables and dip, please let me know at a reasonable fee. We recommend specially for couples that are coming to Seattle to celebrate their anniversary, birthday, or honeymoon, ask for the king-size bed or the special honeymoon room!!!! The lobby is well supplied with multiple copies of different types of pamphlets, maps, Metro schedules and information to help you explore the Emerald City of Seattle. I hope you like painting, because I have some beautiful murals throughout the house with some of the famous areas in Seattle like "The Puget Sound" and "The Snoqualmie Falls" the ceiling is painted it like sky, in the family room, nook, kitchen, and hall ways, that give you the feeling that you are outdoors or that it is daylight at any time. Also, ask Flor to turn the lights off at night so you can see the moon, the stars and the sunset all at once. It is very impressive! People really like to see this.
