Stylish, bright riverside apartment in excellent location. The space Situated within a newly renovated building overlooking the clear waters of the river sorgue, our bright, large-windowed apartment for two offers an excellent base from which to explore this beautiful part of Provence. There is a double bedroom with a comfortable double bed, en suite bathroom with a shower and a living-room/dining/kitchen area to relax in and prepare meals etc. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances (all electric, no gas) including : oven/hob/grill, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, washer/dryer, wi-fi, flat-screen TV / DVD, offering all you will need for a pleasant stay. The apartment feels particularly large because of the extremely high ceilings (which are an artifact of the buildings former use) and being all on one level and on the ground floor, it’s particularly suitable for people with restricted mobility. The building is situated a few hundred metres from the main strip where you will find a wealth of restaurants (including the michelin-starred Balade de serveurs) and bars that line the calm waterwheel lined river. Spend a leisurely afternoon browsing one of the many galleries L'isle Sur La Sorgue is famous for, or, for a more active holiday, the region offers a wealth of things to do including: cycling, hiking and kayaking. Just a short 10-15 minute drive away are the pretty hill-top villages of the Luberon, such as Menerbes, Lourmarin, Lacoste, Bonnieux and Gordes where you can enjoy spectacular views of the breathtaking French countryside and unwind with a glass of wine in one of the medieval squares. You can also visit the cities of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Saint Rémy (home of the Van Gogh museum) and enjoy a day out at one of the famous vineyards of the Cotes du Rhone. The town centre is literally metres away on foot and car parking is opposite. A blue disc is required, available from local “tabac”. Further details on parking can be found at the end of the description but it is directly opposite the building on the other side of the river (as seen over the foot bridge). As expected, household linens, sheets, towels etc. are all included as well as fast (20mb) internet access. The apartment has a mobile air conditioning unit for those hot summer nights. The train station (SNCF) : 600m (10 minutes on foot). The property is about 20 minutes from Avignon Caumont Airport by car. ***Parking Information*** Free 2‑hour street parking is available directly opposite in the Blue Zone (no charge overnight or Sundays). A blue disc is required, not provided, but you can buy one for €1–€4 at local tabacs, newsagents, petrol stations, or auto shops. These discs have a wheel on them so you can enter the time you arrived. For longer stays: Portalet Car Park – 5 min walk. Turn right from the flat, then left at the roundabout. Entrance is on your left. (Paid) Piscine Car Park – 8 min walk. Continue past Portalet; it’s on your right after the next roundabout. (Paid) Muscadelle / Grand Sud – 10/15m walk.
