Catering for one or two couples, it has all you could need for a little home away from home. The space In 1858 a saddler by trade, James Dixon Little was operating the Australian Tannery at the rear of this site and it is believed that the present cottage was built by Little in the late 1850's as accommodation for workers at the tannery. The cottage though now renovated has retained much of its natural charm. Catering for one or two couples, there is a comfortable lounge with open fire, two bedrooms (one queen and one double) with quality linen on comfortable beds, a fabulous dining room and the industrial stainless steel kitchen compliments the simple style of the early Victorian era. We have an enclosed garden with covered verandah to sit and read the papers, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, before strolling down the road to the town to the local markets or one of the many cafes - the best of both worlds. With off street parking, TV/DVD/CD - TheTannery is a getaway with modern and historic charm to please the senses. Just a short drive to the wineries to taste some of Mudgee's best at the friendly cellar doors and then off to one of the great eateries - bliss! Guest access Complete home.
