Owl’s Nest is a bright and airy 2,000 sq ft year round lakefront home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, fully equipped kitchen, two decks and a balcony at the water’s edge. With almost 400 feet of private waterfront and mature trees all around, the setting is magical any season. The boat dock, deep water swim platform and a shallow swim area allow guests of all ages to enjoy the lake. Owl's Nest is only 4 miles from Damariscotta Center with many shops, restaurants and art galleries. Amazing location! The space Kitchen amenities: gas range, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, coffee grinder, electric kettle. Pantry basics for your arrival. Hannaford Supermarket is a 5 min drive; Main Street Grocery (local supermarket) and Rising Tide Co-Op (great variety of organic and locally sourced foods) are a 7 min drive from the house. There are many farm stands within a short drive from Owl’s Nest. Farmer’s Market is held every Friday morning in season (5 min drive). Beds: Queen in the Master bedroom on the main floor; Full in the larger second floor bedroom; Twin with Trundle in a smaller second floor bedroom. New mattresses, quality bedding. Bathrooms: 1 on the main floor (with shower), 1 on the second floor (with shower). No tubs. Other amenities: High Speed Internet (100 Mbps), WiFi, 55’ TV with built-in Roku; full size Washer and Dryer; Gas Fireplace (seasonal); Heating, Air Conditioning (except for smallest bedroom on 2nd floor); Generator (whole house); Iron, Hair Dryer; Board Games, Books, Puzzles; Parking; 2 kayaks & 2 stand-up paddle boards. Linens, bedding, towels (bath and swim) are provided. Capacity: 5 guests are welcome (this number includes infants). No more than 4 adults. Not suitable for children under 4 years old. Security: Outdoor security camera facing the driveway / road. No animals are allowed anywhere on the property due to health issues with our family. Thank you. Spring: Kayaking, Fishing, Birdwatching, Hiking; Maine Maple Sunday (4th Sunday of March); Damariscotta Oyster Celebration (early-mid June); Alewife Festival in Damariscotta (late May - early June); Oxbow Brewery’s Newcastle tasting room and brewery tours; Strawberry pick-your-own at local farms (June); Antiquing, Art Galleries Summer: Swimming, Fishing, Boating, Kayaking on Biscay Pond; River Cruises and Kayaking on Damariscotta River (8 min away); Lincoln County Community Theatre (8 min away); Pemaquid Beach (ocean) is 20 min away; Hiking (many options within 20 min drive); Union Fair (July 10 - 14, 2024) is a 30 min drive; North Atlantic Blues Festival (July 13 - 14, 2024) and Maine Lobster Festival (July 31 - August 4, 2024) are 35 min away; Highland Games & Scottish Festival (August 17, 2024) is 40 min away; Windsor Fair (August 25 - September 2, 2024) is 35 min drive; Antiquing, Art Galleries; Farmer’s Market (every Friday morning during season, 5 min drive) Fall: Foliage (gorgeous colors!), Kayaking, Boating, Fishing, Hiking, Apple Picking (Biscay Orchard is a 5 min walk from us), Relaxing by the Fireplace; Pemaquid Oyster Festival in Damariscotta (last Sunday in September); Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta (October 12 - 14, 2024); Antiquing; Support our local Amish community as you visit farms and country stores in Whitefield (30 min away) Winter: Ice Fishing on Biscay Pond, Snowshoeing, Cross-Country Skiing, Hiking, Relaxing by the Fireplace. Many shops and restaurants in the area are open year round. Winterfest at Coastal Rivers Nature Center. Harbor Lights Festival (first weekend in December). Sleigh rides at Goranson Farm. The Gingerbread Spectacular at Boothbay Harbor. Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (late November - December, open Thurs - Sun). Also, we are 40 min drive from Camden Snow Bowl, 75 min drive from Blackstrap Hill Ski Area, 80 min drive from Lost Valley Ski Area and 90 min drive from Spruce Mountain Ski Slope & Eaton Mountain. Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Shawnee Peak and Black Mountain are 2 hours 20 min away.
