Millpool Lodge peaceful haven Cardinham Cornwall

Set in 3.5 acres of paradise on the edge of Bodmin moor. A crystal clear stream meanders through woods with two waterfalls, a beautiful lake and bridges. Our own pine forest and Decked bbq and hot tub area. Millpool Lodge has entrance lobby, a lounge, two bedrooms, kitchen, two toilets, shower and outside seating. It has its own front and back entrance and is semi-attached to The Grange where we live. Close to Eden project, Polzeath, Rock, Fowey, Cardinham Woods, Camel Bike Trail, Lanhydrock. The space A truly magical garden. Full of wildlife, squirrels, rabbits and goldfinches and even herons and ducks flock to the lake and stream. Two bridges and waterfalls provide calming back ground sound. You will not want to leave this little piece of paradise. There is an invigorating waterfall plunge pool which is at its best in the winter. There is decked bbq and hot tub area with night lighting ideal for socialising and enjoying the great views. A picnic area through the pine woods creates an ideal day time area for play and keeping fit . In the more formal part of the garden there is a fountain and night time lighting, with plenty of places to sit and enjoy an evening by the stream and lake. We like to encourage the wildlife, so we leave areas of the meadow, woods and lake free for the wild flowers to grow and encourage some of our rarer wildlife in to the garden. The Lodge has two bedrooms one double bedroom and one small bedroom with a sturdy bunk bed with comfortable mattresses. Ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. We also have a travel cot available. There is a footpath leading to Cardinham woods, and direct access to the moors. We are close also to Lanhydrock House, Colliford Lake, Siblyback Watersports Park, and Eden project and St Breward (Poldark Country). Easy access to both the south and north coast. Lovely Fowey being our nearest south coast venue, and Polzeath, Rock and Padstow on the north coast. Particular mention should be made of the excellent cycle trails from Bodmin to Padstow via Wadebridge, and also the cycle track from Bodmin up to the Moors. Cardinham and Lanhydrock woods also have amazing national cycle tails - Ideal for a family bike trip and highly recommended. We also offer a range of watersports activities. A day out on our 9 metre power boat visiting all the coves and beautiful waters of the Fal estuary. Wakeboarding and waterskiing, coastal kayak tour to get close to nature and visit some of our quiet and inaccessible coves. We can also advise on a complete list of activities as we are ideally placed to enjoy both north and south coast. We are right on the edge of an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The moors are exceptionally quiet and beautiful at any time of year. For getting in touch with nature and beautiful landscape it cannot be beaten. Moorland cattle and ponies mingle with Stags and Roedeer making an idyllic country scene. We are central to all areas in Cornwall being half a mile from the arterial A30. So an ideal spot for exploring wonderful Cornwall. We are always happy to offer advice to make the most of your holidays. The gardens are magnificent at any time of year, and you will find great tranquillity and beauty in this wonderful garden. Guest access You will be able to access all the gardens, bbq and decking area. The hot tub is available all year round and is situated by the bbq area. There will be a small £30 (weekend) £50 (weekly) charge for use of the hot tub to cover electricity, cleaning and maintenance charges. This is of course an optional extra. Wi-fi is also available in the Lodge. We advise bringing a laptop or tablet if you need to work while on holiday. We also have a lovely 9 metre power boat based in Falmouth marina, and are happy to offer day or half day power boat trips in the beautiful Fal and Helford passage, Lester is a MCA commercial skipper and Jenny is a RYA Powerboat Instructor. We also are qualified waterskiing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding instructors if you fancy getting in the water and having some fun. We also have a fleet of open kayaks available either for hire and happy to let you use some body boards that we have with no charge. Other things to note Millpool is just half a mile off the A30. After Temple look for the Preeze Cross exit with Cardinham and Blisland and yellow Millpool on the sign. Exit there and follow the sign to Millpool go down the narrow lane and you will enter Millpool. Go over the little bridge and we are the third house on the right. There is a huge copper beech on the wall, and it says Millpool Grange in the wall. Go down the sloping drive and you can park on the right just outside the Lodge. We are ideally positioned for touring around Cornwall as we are so close to the A30 yet in a very quiet and unspoilt village. We don't have any shops here, so best to stock up en route. There will be a Cornish Cream tea waiting for you so you can relax with a nice cup of tea. Parking is available right outside the Lodge. We are just 25 minutes away from Newquay airport. And 15 minutes away from Bodmin Parkway on the main rail line from London. You will need your car to get around, but do use the tiny local roads, they are delightfully quiet, take you across the moors, where you will see lots of wild ponies, cattle and sometimes deer. BUT DO DRIVE WITH DUE CARE AS THE ROADS ARE VERY NARROW!
