Family house for 9 people –Swimming pool & grounds

Former gardener's house (140m²) nestled in an enclosed park 2 hours from Paris. We live here as a family and welcome you personally. Heated swimming pool (4x12m) in the former vegetable garden, pond... The absolute tranquillity of the Berry countryside, 10 minutes from the vineyards of Menetou-Salon and 45 minutes from Sancerre. Fully equipped kitchen, wood stove, WiFi, beds made, pets welcome. Sleeps up to 9 people. La Maison de Célestin is where time stands still. The space CÉLESTIN'S HOUSE This house was once home to the family of Célestin, the estate's gardener. We have completely redesigned it in a cosy, country style, offering you 140 m² of charm and light. ON THE GROUND FLOOR A bright kitchen opens onto the garden through a large bay window. Looking through it, you can see the park's century-old trees and, with a little luck, squirrels. There is a central table for gatherings and the kitchen is fully equipped (oven, induction hob, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine, wine cellar). A large living room with wood-burning stove (wood provided), two large sofas, flat-screen TV and games. A fully equipped laundry room (washing machine, freezer). UPSTAIRS - Bedroom 1: 160 cm bed, view of the park, desk and reading area - Bedroom 2: 160 cm bed, very bright, desk and reading area - Bedroom 3: 2 90 cm bunk beds + pull-out bed - Bathroom with bathtub - Shower room with walk-in shower - Cot, high chair and unbreakable crockery available YOUR PRIVATE GARDEN A small garden enclosed by a hedge, with garden furniture and a Weber barbecue. Children can play there in complete safety. SHARED OUTDOOR AREAS THE PARK Several hectares of greenery to explore: pond, meadow, century-old trees, shaded paths. A paradise for children with swings, tree climbing... THE SWIMMING POOL (mid-May to mid-September) 12 x 4 m pool, set in the former vegetable garden and protected by stone walls. Eco-friendly heating by solar cover, salt treatment. Deckchairs, parasols, wooden terrace. Free access from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. You will share this space with our family (we have two teenage daughters) and, at the end of the day only (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.), with guests staying in our bed and breakfast. THINGS TO DISCOVER IN THE SURROUNDING AREA Two hours from Paris, Berry is a well-kept secret. VINEYARDS (we will share our addresses of winegrower friends with you) - Menetou-Salon: 10 mins - Quincy and Reuilly: 30 mins - Sancerre: 45 mins HERITAGE - Bourges Cathedral (UNESCO): 15 mins - Noirlac Abbey: 30 mins - Valençay Castle: 45 mins - Beauval ZooParc: 1 hour - Loire Valley Castles (Chambord, Chenonceau): 1 hour 15 mins FAMILY Educational farms, fruit picking, local markets, golf and horse riding nearby. ACCESS Car essential, but very easy access from the A71 motorway. Private parking in front of the house. - Bourges train station: 10 mins - Paris: 2 hrs via the A71 motorway - Châteauroux Airport: 50 mins All shops approx. 5 mins away PRACTICAL INFORMATION ARRIVAL: between 4pm and 7pm (5pm in July-August) I will welcome you personally to give you the keys and show you around the house. DEPARTURE: before 10am Late departure possible until 2pm (€25/hour, on request 48 hours in advance). CLEANING: €80 flat rate You are responsible for tidying up (dishes, rubbish bins, unmade beds). MINIMUM STAY: 2 nights (weekend) / 3 nights (weekday) IN SUMMER: arrivals on Saturdays only. Guest access You can safely park up to two cars on the street side, the hamlet is very quiet.
