St. Mark's Square Central - 1BR apt

Charming 18th Century Family Home. An Oasis in the very heart of Venice's Fashion District. Fantastic downtown location between St. Mark's Square & la Fenice Opera House steps away from major attractions. Gondola station just downstairs. Supercentral. Lovely cute one-bedroom apartment with traditional marmorino wall covering and exposed beams cealing on the second floor of a 300 years old building located in the heart of Venice, a stone's throw away from St.Mark's Square (200 mts) and near to the main public lines (3 min. to vaporetto and airport-waterbus embarcadero). Comfortable and safe location. Close to...everything: Harry's Bar and Caffe' Florian, la Fenice Theater, Museo Correr, the Basilica, Post office… are just around the corner…supermarket, restaurants, Rialto Market (10 minutes)….Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Palazzo Grassi, Pinault Foundation, main Biennale Exposition at walking distance…. As reference, we are located very close to the well-known “Bauer Palazzo Gruenwald” Hotel and the baroque church of San Moisé, in the chic boutiques' district, and really near to the most important museums and monuments of the old town. The apartment is consisting of a cozy living room with nice kitchen/eating corner (American kitchen: cutlery, pots, pans, dishes…..gas-cooker with 4 rings (no oven!), microwave, toaster, coffee maker, fridge…a comfortable dining table...), one bedroom (bed with double indivisibile mattress - not twin) with one full bathroom. Possibility of a comfortable - not foldable - sofa-bed (bed/couch), also with regular, double, indivisible mattress (upon advance notice and with a charge); two TVs, safe; free wi-fi internet available. All linen are provided, including sheets, towels, blankets, napery (superior or deluxe linens are also possible). NB : Rates depends on the period (for clear reference please check our calendar) and are intended for 2 people. Extra guests pay a supplement. For generations house of our family; personally managed (no agents). Mandatory Venice City Tax (4,00 Euro a day per person, per night) to be paid upon arrival in cash, in euro. Guests have full, exclusive use of the entire apartment. To make your arrival as easy and smooth as possile we will pick you up at our nearest boat station. We have no elevator, however we provide full help with your luggage I'm available most of the time in person. San Marco highlights and tourist attractions (1 min away from us): -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. Basilica of St. Mark - Venice's great sight: a historic treasure-house of riches and loot. St. Mark's Square - probably the most recognisable and dramatic piazza in Italy. Ducal Palace - this is where Venice's ruler, the Doge, lived and where the city's business was carried out. Torre dell'Orologio - The Renaissance clocktower in St. Mark's Square. Campanile di San Marco - climb the famous bell-tower of St. Mark's. La Fenice - Venice's famous opera house, recently rebuilt after a devastating fire. Scala Contarini del Bovolo - attractive external spiral staircase. Palazzo Fortuny - Gothic palazzo; exhibition space. Shopping - if you like designer shops, or are looking for expensive glassware, this is the place to come. Acqua alta - this low-lying part of town is one of the best places to witness high water. Bridge of Sighs - a small covered bridge which once led to the Venetian prison. Museo Correr - the museum has a range of displays including some fine artworks. The local archaeological museum is attached. - Check-in is only possible from 2 pm to 7 pm and must be set in advance. Due to the circumstances, later arrivals "might" be possible (ask) with an extra charge of min 50 euro, to be settled in cash, in euro upon arrival. - Stairs to climb. - By law, we must collect the local city tax to be paid in cash on arrival: 4 euro per person, per day. - We can accommodate a maximum of two people. Only people booked in the itinerary are allowed. No strangers in the property. - Check-in possible only and exclusively upon pick-up at our nearest boat stop. - The kitchen is intended to be used in a reasonable/sensible way for preparing simple meals, i.e., cooking with oil, fish, garlic, onions or other pungent odors is NOT allowed. The apartment is given odor-free and must be returned in the same condition. -For security reason ironing is NOT allowed. Please, don't ask. - Smoke, Garlic & Pet Free Home. - Bed is double: no twin beds; upon adequate advance notice (and with a charge) the sofa-bed in the living-room can be prepared into a regular, comfortable, not foldable, real bed. - Luggage storage NOT available after check-out.
