Walk (or nearby bus stop) to Manly over the headland, and catch the ferry to Sydney. Parking space, sunny tropical courtyard, and quality fittings throughout. Downstairs features travertine floors, combined kitchen/living/dining, single bedroom with ensuite, and under stairs washing machine and dryer. Upstairs is carpeted and has two bedrooms and two ensuites (one with a bath), plus a cupboard with beach towels, games, toys etc. Bedroom Summary - downstairs has a single bedroom, and upstairs has one queen bed, plus a bedroom with 2 extra long singles that can be pushed together to form a king-sized bed if required. Sydney is cold in winter, so there is underfloor heating under the downstairs travertine, as well as heated floors and towel rails in the bathrooms. There is no air-conditioning, but the cottage has lots of louvred windows to capture the sea breeze, plus ceiling fans throughout. Freshwater village is fantastic, with its selection of cafes, restaurants, Stowaway bar and pizza, great cake shop with the best 'melting moments', chemist, doctors, bottle shop, hair dressers, and clothes and homeware shops. There are beautiful coastal walks both north and south from Freshwater beach. Freshwater beach is a gorgeous place to spend the day, or walk round to the 50 metre rock pool for lengths or play. Manly is a pleasant half hour walk over the headland and has lots more cafes and restaurants, or catch the Manly ferry into Sydney for a day of exploring the Opera House, museums and fascinating history. Seahorse Cottage is the perfect place for everyone, whether you are looking for a base to explore Sydney, or a chilled-out home-from-home near a beautiful beach. My family and I live next door in the adjacent house and share the driveway (same block of land). The cottage has one car parking space, plus free all day/night parking in the street. If you have an extra long car, or a trailer it will need to be parked in the street please. Please note that the cottage does not have any extra storage space for large items/bikes etc. There is a front courtyard and side passageway only. Long stay bookings - we welcome long stay bookings at the cottage, and have added an automatic discount into the site. For long stay self-catering bookings 2 sets of linen and towels are provided and toilet/kitchen rolls, washing powder etc for the first two weeks.
