In the heart of Athens, 20 metres from the metro, there stands this bright, colourful, yet stylish, penthouse high ceiling apartment, fine example of the city's modern architecture of the 1930's, only a breath away from the classical archaeologies of the National Archaeological Museum and contemporary sightseeing attractions, ideal for touristic explorations or for just getting the athenian vibe. The space The apartment is on the 5th (top) floor of a building (so called polikatoikia) which was built in the 1930's following the modernism's features. Hence, it has high ceilings and, luckily, it still benefits from open space around it, as there are not other tall buildings right next to it. As a result, it has numerous windows which let ample sunlight into all rooms unexceptionally. In addition to the windows, there stands a substantial veranda which overlooks Victoria square as well as part of the city and the mountain line of Parnitha in the distance. Due to the fact that the apartment is on the top floor, it is very quiet regardless of the position of the building in the heart of the city centre. This specific room has a big AC that can supplement the whole apartment when it gets too hot (or even too cold, though there is central heating). You can access the veranda through this room. The master bedroom with the romantic atmosphere has a handmade bespoke double bed (extra long), a lot of storage, TV, several bookcases (full of options) an AC and a ceiling fan for the extremely hot summer nights. The second bedroom, originally decorated for younger people is very fresh and with the privilege of direct access to the veranda. It sleeps two people in two full size single beds, it has some storage and also an AC and a ceiling fan. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the white goods that can add quality and comfort to your stay (dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and even a mixer if you feel like experimenting with the recipe books) as well with a full range of cutlery, cooking utensils and plates, cups and glasses. There is also a small surprise in the kitchen as you can see from the window the old stairs (now decorated with plants) that used for visiting the top of the building and the old door that was used for that purpose intentionally left in its original style. The bathroom has ample space and a long surface next to the marble water basin(which was by the way the apartment's initial sink) ideal to place all your toiletries. There is also a washing machine, numerous towels as well as shampoo and shower gel. Finally, the veranda is the apartment's asset not only due to its size (it is quite wide too) and extended view, but also because the plants, the tent, the colour and the outdoor furniture create the perfect environment for a relaxing breakfast or coffee break, a cool evening drink or just contemplation time.
