The space The villa, “Maison Irène” is perfectly located less than a 10-minute drive from the town center and the seaside. A Weber gas barbecue is available for an additional fee of €50, which includes the gas bottle and cleaning/maintenance after use, allowing you to prepare delicious meals during your stay. The house is 5 minutes from the village center where you will find cafes, restaurants, boutique stores, playgrounds, cinema and a casino. There are delightful food specialty stores for cheese, fruits, bakeries that are specific to the Normandy region. There is also a lake that is perfect for an afternoon stroll and bike rental service located about 10 minutes away from the villa. The beach of Villers-sur-Mer is large and surrounded by elegant Norman villas. From the beach, look out for the “Vaches Noires” (Black Cows) cliffs! The cliffs are a protected paleontological site with many fossils – you may even be able to find some fossils on the beach! The tourist office also organizes many visits around the town and countryside, as well as cultural activities. A bit of history: The sea resort of Villers-sur-Mer was established in 1856 after Trouville-sur-Mer (1825), Beuzeval (1845), Cabourg (1853), Houlgate (1854) and Deauville was established in 1859. The town was associated with many artists in the 1840s: Paul Huet, Constant Troyon, Alphonse Karr. The station was designed by Félix Pigeory, (an architect in Paris and creator/writer of Magazine Review of the Fine arts - School of the Fine Arts) and by Pitre-Chevalier, who took over as director of the Le Figaro newspaper from Alphonse Karr, who introduced Chevalier to the charms of Villers-sur-Mer.
