La Maison du Potager is one of the outbuildings of the Château de Vérigny, which extends over a vast estate made up of gardens, orchards and meadows enclosed by walls. La Maison du Potager has been completely renovated and equipped to ensure the best comfort throughout the year, whether for a weekend, vacation or remote work. For a stay in contact with nature in a quiet and preserved environment, let yourself be seduced by the Maison du Potager. The space La Maison du Potager is an old house covered in ivy. On one level, south-facing, it is composed of three rooms: a large living room of 42 m2 equipped with a beautiful open kitchen with a friendly central island, a table that can accommodate 8 people seated and a sitting area with a sofa and armchairs to relax or watch TV. On both sides of the living room, two comfortable bedrooms overlooking the gardens each have a private bathroom equipped with a shower and toilet. Both bedrooms have quality bedding that can be arranged in 2 separate beds or in a king size bed (180 x 200) format according to your wishes. The house is connected to fiber optic and has an excellent internet connection with a Wi-Fi signal for remote working. It is perfectly suitable for families with children and we can lend you a high chair and crib. To avoid you bringing sheets and towels, the beds will be made and linens will be provided (towels, tea towels). A few steps from the Maison du Potager, a large greenhouse converted into a winter garden with garden furniture and a large table for 8 people allows you to enjoy the garden in shelter or to observe the stars in the evening. A very large garden with fruit trees and rose bushes, enclosed by walls, located directly in front of the house awaits you. A barbecue, table and chairs for outdoor dining as well as deckchairs are at your disposal. There is plenty of space to play Bagmington, soccer or take long walks along the meadows and woods. Bicycles are also available (2 adult bikes and one child bike) to follow the small country roads that can also be discovered on foot. Although smoking is not allowed in the house and greenhouse, the outdoor areas allow you to smoke comfortably. Finally, an independent laundry room is also available to guests with a washing machine and dryer. Whatever your arrival time, independently or not, we can be there to welcome you. Guest access Access to the Maison du Potager is via an entrance gate (see photo on the site) followed by a long private driveway lined with meadows. Parking (uncovered) for cars has been provided along the driveway. It is possible to arrive in Chartres by train and use a taxi or the regional bus to get to Vérigny. However, the village of Vérigny has no shops or restaurants and the first supermarket is 5 km from the house: it is highly recommended to have a vehicle. Other things to note It is possible to rent an additional room located 40 meters from the Maison du Potager if you want to isolate yourself to telework quietly or host friends. This room has its own bathroom and toilet. It is equipped with quality bedding in 2 separate beds or in king size bed format (180 x 200) as well as a work table. The outbuildings of the Château de Vérigny are composed of three cottages: the Orangerie and the Maison du Potager, which share the same access gate, and the Verger, which has its own independent access gate. These three cottages are not opposite each other and are more than 30 meters apart. They share a large garden planted with trees and roses. It is possible to rent the whole under the name of the Grand Potager on the site: 3 cottages for a total of 16 people (8 bedrooms / 8 bathrooms). The outdoor spaces, greenhouse and laundry room have been designed to be common to all three houses.
