The apartment is bright and airy with plenty of windows that open. The rate does not include electricity. Enjoy a home-cooked Vietnamese dinner with our family each weekend. The space Our comfortable 50 square meter apartment is on the 5th floor of my family home at 77A, Tho Nhuom Street, in central Hanoi. There are three generations living here under one roof, myself and my wife, both retired, my two sons with their families, and my granddaughters. My sons, my daughter-in-law and I can speak English; my wife only speaks a little English, but she's an excellent cook and is very welcoming. Our house is in the Hoan Kiem District in central Hanoi, just a ten-minute walk to beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake. The neighborhood is safe and very friendly and is filled to the brim with places to eat and drink. We can help you get set up when you arrive by showing you banks, markets, supermarkets, public transportation options, and where to eat and drink nearby. Guests access the apartment through the same front door and stairs that we use. The apartment, with its kitchen and living room, is completely separate and private, but to get there you pass through our front door, pass our kitchen (where you'll probably smell something tasty) and up our stairs. We live on the 2nd and 3rd floors. As a guest you can come and go as you please at any time, and you'll have your own keys for the front door and the apartment. The apartment has 1 bedroom with a Queen-size bed and wardrobe, a large bathroom and shower with excellent water pressure (and hot water), a furnished living room, and a fully equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator, microwave, plenty of pots and pans, and a table and chairs. If you like to cook you'll find everything you need. There are air-conditioner units in the bedroom and living room, as well as several fans, a large work desk, a TV, desk lights, and a safe for valuables. The entire apartment is bright and airy, with large windows that open. There's a lot of natural light. The apartment has its own strong, reliable Wifi available throughout. It's an excellent set-up for digital nomads, or for people who need to write or work. You can also access the rooftop. The apartment rate includes free use of the laundry room (we have two washing machines and plenty of room to dry your clothes), and one bottle (18.5 liters) of drinking water every two weeks. If you're here over a weekend, you'll be invited to a family dinner where you can eat with my family and enjoy a home-cooked Vietnamese meal. Note that the rate does not include the cost of electricity, which is charged separately (the charge is around 1USD per day when one air-conditioner is used). The apartment has an electricity counter for measuring electricity you use. Living in private but at the same time close to a Vietnamese family will give you the opportunity to learn more about our family life and culture, and a chance to practice your Vietnamese! Guest access The entire apartment on the top of our house is for your private use Other things to note We appreciate non-smoking guests
