The kitchen is equipped to rustle up anything from beans on toast to a full Christmas dinner, with a lovely spacious table in the centre for up to 4 people to sit comfortably, with views over the garden. The open plan downstairs gives the cottage a light, airy feel and the lounge has comfortable leather armchairs and a sofa. There is a 40 inch TV with DVD player and a woodburning stove for cosy nights in. Upstairs there are two ensuite bedrooms, one with a 6ft Superking bed (twin on request) and the other with a 5ft King double bed. Both shower rooms have power showers, sink and loo. The private garden for Moonseeker is very private indeed with high hedges, fencing and a decked area with garden furniture. Steps lead up to a lawned area with fields beyond. Pets are welcome, but never to be left alone in the cottage please. We don’t allow pets upstairs and there are dog gates to help with this. Dog owners must keep their pets on short leads when they leave the cottage as there are friendly cats, chickens, lambs, etc - and a large, deep pond! We regret we can't accept children under the age of 8. Guest access You have access to Moonseeker and your own private back garden. You will pass in front of the Farmhouse to get to your front door, but nobody else will pass in front of Moonseeker, so the cottage offers a high degree of privacy. There is undercover parking for up to 2 cars and a short walk from the parking area to the cottage. You can load and unload nearer to the cottage (about 20 metres). There is a pretty garden at the front of Moonseeker which is our garden, and guests are welcome to enjoy this area too, but no pets in this garden please, and beware of a very deep unfenced pond with slippery slate surround Other things to note Please note we cannot accommodate electric vehicle charging at present, due to supply capacity, but there is a nearby garage who operate GeniePoint - please enquire for further details We are located on the furthest edge of the village of Sampford Courtenay, famous for its involvement in the Prayer Book Rebellion and just 1.5 miles from Okehampton market town. The approach to us is about 200 metres down an unmade farm track, which truly feels like you are leaving the hustle and bustle behind. We have a Waitrose in Okehampton and they will deliver to the cottage. If you want to go to the nearest pub in the evenings, but don't want to drive, there are many taxi companies in the area. We can help with suggestions for where to dine - pub, fine dining, vegetarian etc and there is a comprehensive information folder in the cottage (with postcodes for sat nav!) The nearest amenities are in Okehampton town, including Waitrose, Lidl, Co-op and lots of cafes, antique shops, museum, cinema and leisure centre. There are dog walks from the door, along the lanes which are quiet, and you can walk to the woods if you wish. Dartmoor is about a 5 minute drive away, the nearest village being Belstone.
