Wariin Cottage means wombat in Dja Dja Wurrung language. The owners of the cottage have an affinity with wombats and a respect for the traditional custodians of the land, so in naming the property they chose to acknowledge both. Wariin is an old miners cottage, circa 1900's, tastefully renovated to make your stay both relaxing and comfortable. It is perfect as a couples retreat or a small family holiday, it is private and pet friendly (small dogs only, larger dogs at owners approval) The space Wariin Cottage is in the perfect position in Hepburn Springs, it is only a short walk to the Hepburn Spa Resort, local cafes and Restaurants. THE SPACE: We love spending time there, once you close that gate, you are in your own private world. The front verandah gets the afternoon sun and is one of our favourite spots for a cuppa or a wine, or go out to the back deck, which is a 5metre enclosed space, shaded by an old apple tree. Fire up the bbq and relax! Or go out to dinner, or have it delivered. In the morning, walk down to the General store for a coffee and a warm muffin. The Hydronic heating in winter warms the space but the thought of sitting by the Ned Kelly with a glass of wine is very appealing. There is evaporative cooling for the summer months. If that isn't enough, in both seasons we have a large bath to cool you in summer and warm you in winter. It is a calming place both inside and out.
