The space Established in the early 1900s, Heartwood Farm is a working cattle property set on 102 private acres in one of the most beautiful pockets of the Byron Bay Hinterland. Surrounded by big skies, rolling countryside and grazing cattle, the cottage sits completely separate from the main homestead, offering guests privacy, tranquillity and uninterrupted views. Spend your days soaking in the heated magnesium plunge pool, reading on the verandah, enjoying long baths in the clawfoot tub, exploring the property, picnicking by the river or gathering around the fire pit beneath the stars with unlimited complimentary firewood. The Wilson River forms the property's boundary, providing private access to beautiful swimming, fishing and picnic spots rarely shared with another soul. Whether you're seeking a romantic escape, a peaceful solo retreat or a relaxing country getaway with friends, Heartwood Farm offers a rare opportunity to reconnect with nature, yourself and each other. Lovingly renovated and styled, the cottage combines heritage charm with modern luxury. The cottage features two queen bedrooms and accommodates up to five guests, including a rollaway bed available on request. This pricing structure helps us keep rates fair for couples while still offering flexibility for families and friends travelling together. For Families Due to the delicate nature of the furnishings and décor, Heartwood Farm is generally best suited to adults and children aged 12 years and over. Families wishing to bring younger children are welcome to contact us prior to booking. A refundable $500 security deposit applies. Guest access Meander down the long driveway past the old piggery and dairy to your piece of paradise. Guests are welcome to respectfully enjoy the areas surrounding the cottage, including the river, open meadows and walking areas. It's the perfect place for a sunset wine, riverside picnic or simply taking in the beauty of the land. Other things to note We stock an essential pantry, including ground coffee beans, black tea, green tea, peppermint tea, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and pasta. Kitchen amenities include a four-burner gas cooktop, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle and toaster. For coffee lovers, we provide both a plunger and stovetop coffee maker.
