Check carefully with us before booking around these dates as the village will not be quiet. With high ceilings throughout, downstairs there is a newly fitted modern kitchen equipped with fridge-freezer, oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave. The huge 36m2 living-room has a fireplace, sofa and chairs, a dining table and adjoining games room. We have a piano which is more or less in tune. There's a wi-fi speaker and a Chromecast so you can listen to/watch what you want from your own devices. Sliding doors open onto the terrace and large courtyard garden where you can eat outside, cook on the barbecue, sunbathe. There's garland lighting for using outside in the evening. Also on the ground floor there is a small separate dining room (useful if someone needs to work quietly or as somewhere where kids can play separate from the main sitting room), and a large formal double bedroom with large ensuite bathroom (with washing machine and tumble dryer). There is an additional shower room and lavatory downstairs. An impressive stone staircase leads upstairs where there are six bedrooms which all have access to the upstairs bathroom with walk-in shower. Four of the bedrooms have king-size beds, high ceilings and stone floors, all with views over the red-tiled rooftops of Junas. Two have their own balconies. One room has twin single beds and one, adjoining one of the double rooms, has two single bunk-beds . There is one travel cot for small children. In the garage straight ahead as you enter the courtyard through the main gate there is a table-tennis table. The other outbuildings are not used. The house was built in 1850 and belonged to one of Junas' oldest families. It has been extensively restored and renovated in recent years. Built in stone, the stone house stays cool in the hot summer months; if you visit during colder weather there is central heating throughout and you can have a fire in the huge fireplace in the main sitting room - but please organise your own firewood (ask for details). Guest access The house and courtyard garden are rented whole and you have use of the entire space. The garage directly in front of you on the far side of the garden when you enter the date has a table tennis table which you can use; the other outbuildings are not used - please do not go in as they may be unsafe. Other things to note ǃǃǃ Please be aware that the 3-day Junas village festival takes place in early July - lots of fun but VERY noisy. Check with us before booking around these dates. The rest of the year the village is very quiet.... Mobile phone reception is generally poor in Junas; use wi-fi communication if possible - the house wi-fi is generally excellent.
