The space Lovely ancient Potter's house In Languedoc-Roussillon, in the beautiful medieval village of Caunes-Minervois, 20 minutes from Carcassonne, Marie and Lionel have tastefully renovated their self contained cottage to welcome up to 4 persons. From the delightful south facing terrace you can gaze over the tiled roofs of the village, and lose yourself in the panoramic view over the plain of the Minervois to the Pyrenees beyond. This is a wonderful place to rest, relax, and live quietly to the rhythm of the Languedoc region. The house is spacious, on two levels. On the ground floor there is a lovely dining room with an open plan kitchen giving onto the terrace. Climbing the old stone staircase, you will find two bedrooms (one with 2 single beds and the other with a double bed), plus a large bathroom. There is also a separate bathroom on the ground floor. Lionel is a renowned ceramic artist, and the cottage is full of examples of his work. A friendly ceramic dog to watch over you whilst you take a nap on the terrace, a stunning hand-made wash basin in the bathroom, plus colorful crockery for the dining table, each piece is unique. Caunes-Minervois is certainly one of the most beautiful villages of the Aude, authentic and protected. Within the village you will find several restaurants, bars, shops, galleries and artisan workshops. All of them within a couple of minutes walk from the Potter’s House. Visit the marvelous Abbey, take a short hike up to the famous quarries of pink marble, shop at the village market or simply stroll through the beautiful vineyards that surround Caunes Minervois. Nearby are the ancient Cathar Castles, famous grottos, the Canal du Midi and of course the fortified medieval city of Carcassonne.
