The space Our place is on the on the first floor - one flight of stairs - of a 19th century building overlooking a busy little street with a baker shop, bars, cafes, restaurants and night clubs. The famous Istiklal Avenue is 1 minute walk away and Taksim Metro is a 10 minute walk. The picturesque vintage tram stops very near the top of the street. This apartment is great if you wish to have a memorable, authentic experience of Istanbul based in the very centre of everything and with a lively and unique party atmosphere at the doorstep. The neighborhood is lively during evenings and night time with bars and nightclubs - conveniently - nearby. This special apartment is best suited for those who embrace the vibrant spirit of it all. The double bedroom is stylish, with a chic velvet headboard, high quality crisp white linens, frescoes and gilded cornicing. The living-dining room is comfortable, with a feather-filled sofa and armchair around the fireplace plus an antique dining table with designer chairs. The apartment is 60m2 in total and well laid-out, with very large windows, amazing high ceilings and frescoes. The exposed floorboards are all original and the huge panelled double-doors are the original dark oak. The bedroom comfortably accommodates two people. We use local maintenance and cleaning services for the apartments and in this way we provide a good income for 2 families who lives nearby. We do everything we can to preserve all the original features and materials in the apartments. Where new materials are needed we source them locally, prioritising products that are designed and/or made in Turkey. Our apartments are uniquely situated amongst mosques, churches, synagogues, a mevlevi ‘whirling dervish’ hall and other sites of religious significance.
