Romantic Cottage in Mount Glorious

Rose Gum Cottage is a private one-bedroom cottage. It provides peace and relaxation on our property, Turkey's Nest, a registered wildlife refuge, surrounded by pristine rainforest. From the warm handcrafted wood finishes, large attic bedroom, cosy fire and relaxing bath, everything is provided for a romantic escape. We take pride in the homely atmosphere, tasteful decor, attention to detail, and the personal touches of flowers, candles and chocolates. Close to cafes and National Park walks. The space Rose Gum cottage is one of two delightful, private, self-contained cottages, as well as a luxury B&B suite, on our beautiful property at Mount Glorious, just 45mins from Brisbane city CBD. Each is designed to provide the ultimate in privacy and relaxation. It is a perfect place to escape the bustle of everyday life. Our romantic Rose Gum Cottage (sleeps 2 + child) has one bedroom (with a queen bed, plus a day bed suitable for a child), bathroom with claw-foot bath, full kitchen, living and dining room with fireplace, and a verandah overlooking the forest. Rose Gum Cottage has a delightful rustic charm, combined with hand-crafted details, featuring all the modern conveniences you would expect to make your stay comfortable. A wide variety of native birds come down to feed on the verandah, making this a great spot for photography enthusiasts. Please note: we have a minimum of two-night stays in our cottages. Single nights may be available in our Rainforest Suite, listed on Airbnb as "Luxury Mount Glorious Rainforest Studio". Mount Glorious is surrounded by D'Aguilar National Park. There are beautiful walking tracks through both rainforest and gum forest. At 620m above sea level, it is cooler than Brisbane in summer, and can get quite cold and misty in winter - a good time to sit in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a good book! Mount Glorious village has several cafes for daytime dining. A beautiful sculpture garden, in a rainforest setting, is open on Sundays. Day trips in the Brisbane Hinterland take you to Fernvale, Esk, Wivenhoe Dam, Dayboro and Mount Mee. Unfortunately there is no public transport to Mount Glorious. Access is by car only. Parking is on site, beside your cottage. We have operated our cottages for seventeen years, and have many regular guests. We enjoy meeting the many travellers who come to Mount Glorious to relax and spend a quiet time together, and savour a forest environment so close to the city. Our cottages have a warm and welcoming atmosphere, to which we add features such as port, home made chocolates, candles and fresh flowers. Massages can be arranged in your cottage with independent operators - please ask for details. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore our extensive rainforest property, including our rainforest track. Turkey's Nest is less than a kilometre from the Maiala section of D'Aguilar National Park. Other things to note There are no food stores at Mount Glorious. the nearest supermarket and shops are at Samford (20 mins). The local restaurant and cafes do not open at night. Our accommodation has a well stocked kitchen.
