Situated 33km west of Turangi on the southwestern edge of Lake Taupo. The magic of Whareroa is its relative isolation, great Lake views and Village style atmosphere. Enjoy long sandy beaches, excellent boat launching, ski lane, and fabulous fishing. For those who prefer fly fishing, there is the famous Whareroa stream mouth, or Lake Kuratau only minutes away. Taupo is just an hour away via a beautiful scenic lakeside road. In the winter months, the Whakapapa ski fields are only 50 minutes away. Enjoy a full day on the slopes and then stop in at the Tokaanu hot pools on the way home for a relaxing soak.
