Description
This lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom gite sleeps up to 6 people and is located on the edge of a quiet village close to both St Leon sur Vezere and Montignac. Built over 200 years ago on the banks of the Vezere river, this traditional stone gite is set in a beautiful parkland garden which it shares with another gite. Whilst it's tranquil location is perfect for ensuring a relaxing holiday, it is close to all the main attractions offered in both the Vezere and Dordogne valleys, and surrounding areas. The space Immediately outside the gite is a small private garden and BBQ area, set within the larger parkland grounds of the owners property. The gite has its own private, heated swimming pool, which sits in a beautiful landscaped area of the garden which is both gated and secure. Guest access In addition to their own private garden, all guests have full access to the landscaped two acre parkland gardens. The property offers a good range of games including tennis, table tennis, badminton, table football, and boules, and for younger children there is also a garden slide and some swings. Other things to note IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION Bookings in July and August must be for full weeks and start and end on a Saturday. There is so much to do here it is difficult to know where to start. The walking here is wonderful, and even on the hottest days the woodland walks provide plenty of shade to keep you cool. There is a beautiful riverside walk to the nearby village of St Leon sur Vezere, which takes about 40 minutes, where there are some lovely riverside restaurants and bars, along with a small number of arts and craft shops, which are always interesting to visit. The village is definitely on the tourist map and because of its location on the river, it is popular destination for the many canoeists making their way down the Vezere river. We would also recommend a visit to the world famous Lascaux caves, which are only ten minutes away in Montignac. They are truly awe inspiring, and are suitable for visitors of all ages. A visit here gives you an appreciation of just how far the human race has come over the last 20,000 years! If none of this is for you, you can always sit by the pool with a book!
