Stella's Home: Old Town Traditional Cretan House

Our lovely home is located in the city centre of Heraklion, in a quiet local neighbourhood. It is a renovated traditional Cretan house (dated back to 19th century and classified as an archaeological site) where you can relax while being a few minutes away from the buzz of the city centre; it is ideal for couples, families and friends. Living there is a journey through the past with all todays’ comforts. The space This house belongs to my family and one year ago my father and I decided to renovate it. The house was completely ruined and my dad and I worked hard in order to revive it. It is considered an archaeological site, therefore, we had to preserve its unique architecture. All rooms are connected to each other through a yard which is the old structure of the Cretan local houses. It is a fully equipped house on two floors. The space consists of three rooms along with a small yard and a lovely terrace. On the ground floor there is one bedroom with a private toilet, the kitchen/living room and a small yard with traditional table and chairs, where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning. On the second floor, there is another bedroom with a private toilet and the terrace with a wooden pergola, where you can spend your time during the evening. In the kitchen/living room you will find a traditional sofa, smart TV, table, chairs and a fully equipped kitchen that will allow you to cook at home in all comfort. Water, coffee, tea, cretan olive oil, local salt, oregano and pepper as well as local raki (a traditional delicious, grapes based, alcoholic drink) are also complimentary. My dad and I spent a lot of time rebuilding this house, taking care of every detail. I designed all furniture with love and passion in order to create a home, where anyone would feel comfortable & happy to live in. All wooden furniture is handmade, produced by a talented local craftsman. All curtains, pillow covers, table clothing and bed covers are handmade by my grandmothers. It has been an incredible feeling to rebuild a house from the ground up with my dad & this is what makes it invaluable for me. Registration Details 00000807294
